🕑 Added 2022-06-24 16:00:20 +0000 UTCI Have a quick preview for next month, we will be releasing the 3 main buildings for the scriptorium fort, a vast book shelf set , and precarious book stacks, There will be a kitchen oven provided as scatter as well. Next month we will finish off the Library along with the fortifications and plateau. I ‘m hopeful to get some other buildings in as well. The set up for the fort will be fairly loose as the buildings are more organic and do not allow for a clip system without me forcing people to print 2 versions. The fort entrance will be through the plateau. The plateau will be large enough to house factory operations for much of the scatter we have released the last few months.
The concept for this scriptorium fort is for it to be set up in a rural forested area where it is protected by the reputation or superstition around it’s location. I felt it could provide an interesting base of operations for low level adventurers like “Nights Dark Terror”. It could easily also provide a challenging rescue or raiding opportunity for mid-level characters.
Bookshelves: I will be spending the remaining month to add scrolls and other object options to the bookshelves along with more stacks. They work at both FDM and Resin prints. The parts are all interchangeable, I’m hoping for 3 distinctive book cases and another 12-20 shelves. Obviously if there is a specific feature somebody wants it will be easy to add to this set. Edit: added images of scroll shelves and inserts for arch book shelf, currently printing primitive style bookshelf.
Precarious bookstacks: I intend to add more, test printing for these is also precarious so it has been slower to make these than I had hoped. These are the only "resin only" prints.

I will make solid versions of these 3 buildings for scaling.
Kitchen. A simple stone kitchen building, I will provide a floor without the oven and a loose outdoors oven as well.
edit: added images of version with merged exterior,interior oven, also some images of it with our primitive kitchen tables released last year.
Meditation/watch tower. This is a simple round Tower loosely based on dark age Irish round towers. I read one theory that these towers may have been used for meditation/storage as they could be mild antennas for electromagnetic energy due to the rock composition. These theories seem to come from the realization that free standing structures like this are rubbish for serious defense except for maybe keeping out a single wandering thief.

Small Chapel/Tower: A small chapel that could house a modest scriptorium/library/watch tower.

Yeah, I'll see what I can manage but will likely get stuck doing resin only for something like that. Yes I think it will be a good idea, everyone has to run some version of against giants sooner or later.:)

Ooooh, what a cool idea. That could be a resin mini I think but I woiuld so want one. I love the Giant tome idea as well, but I'm biased. I'm running an Against the Giants campaign, and my players are going to be invading Giant strongholds periodically (get it?)
Hi Richard, I have another month to put in on this, I'll get that stuff out. I found images on the books you mentioned, Thanks for the heads up, I had no idea they made 100+ lb books back then. Maybe I can do a couple larger ones even, Could be cool to use as a whole adventure motif if some frost or fire giants are looking for some giant book of magic or if the characters have to steal some 600lb book. That'd be a fun twist!

I'm hoping you will also give us some books lying open, and maybe one or two open but face down. And I have a couple illuminations that show a handful of clerics standing gathered before a book c. 6ft tall (30mm) leaning on a stand, all reading and discussing the text.

Yes but it will be next month, I don't have time to test print and support. I have to do a series of open books to release as well. I still have a bunch of larger scribe/library assets for august.

I absolutely love this! I had no idea this is what you were working towards. Would it be possible to get the fancy books as individual files as well? The ability to place them on lecterns and other places would individually would be great.
