Thank you for joining me in the new year! As many of you know, my Patreon format will be changing starting now. Twice a month, I plan to release a sort of newspaper with all kinds of info. Basically, I will be working on a variety of ideas and projects at a time, and instead of the usual hinting and teasing, you will get ALL the behind the scenes, work in progress & more! Exciting right?
These updates will be posted roughly around the 1st & 15th of each month!
These updates will typically consist of work-in-progress images of whatever I'm currently working on, links to ongoing polls & other ways I could use your input, updates about me (gooeycandy the artist), other general updates & more! Completed work will still receive it's own post.
Anyway, let's get into the news!
We'll start off with a big announcement, I'm going to be tabling (for the first time ever as gooeycandy) as a special guest at my first convention, Barapalooza! The convention is in Mexico City, which I'm a little nervous about because my Spanish is choppy, but I'll have a friend to translate, and I'm very excited to travel and meet you all if any of you can make it out there! I'll be sure to get more info on the event as it comes out, but it'll be sometime in the summer I believe!!
🎨 Art & Project Progress:
New Hands On!: Here's a WIP for the UI of the New Hands On titles. My very talented programmer got an opportunity he couldn't turn down 😭 so I'll likely be on the hunt for another programmer in the near future. If you know anyone who is good at Unity/working with 2D assets and may be interested, send them this application please!!
Bolin & Peter B Parker Remasters: I've been tinkering with remastering old fan-favorite pieces to make as prints in my shop. Not much progress has been made with these, and this isn't necessarily a project I'm prioritizing. Also some older pieces I may have to just draw from the start cause they're unsalvageable haha.
Juicy Candy: Sometime last year when things were choppy on Twitter, I had the idea to make a SFW account as a back up. I haven't done anything with it since, and the thought of running multiple accounts sounds miserable, but I still like the idea of occasionally making completely SFW merchandise... would you guys be interested in me having occasional completely SFW illustrations/merch? Btw that Luigi's mansion sticker is still a work-in-progress.
🔎 Current Focuses:
A biiiiig focus is progress on Hands On, I want to start work on a new "Poké-Man" card soon, and finishing my "Best Of 2019-2024" Art Book are my current main priorities! So expect the most updates on those things for now!
💬 Ongoing Polls/Suggestion Boxes:
A poll will be posted soon to decide which Poké-Man card I create next, and a suggestion box will also be posted. So keep an eye out for those!

Hey everyone! Thought a little section of this newsletter about my personal life could be fun! Don't like being so work, work, work all the time haha. Feel free to skip this part if you're not interested lol.
So uh, went home for the holidays, my tire popped on the highway & I paid a shit ton to get a new one, but I didn't have to pay to tow it cause my dad drove 40 minutes out to help put the emergency tire on. Also locked myself out of my apartment yesterday, but luckily I didn't have to call a locksmith cause a man who works in my apartment place's office happened to show up after hours and helped. Moral of the story is sometimes people will go out of their way to help you, whether they're a loved one or a stranger. I'm gonna try harder to be that person for others when the opportunity presents itself.
Also my ex-bf/current situationship (it's confusing) is on a cruise ship right now and it's driving me insaaaane that I can't talk to him. But maybe that's for the best...

ayyy glad you like this style for things! It's def gonna help me organize my thoughts and priorities better. Lets hope I can make enough content to not make them snooze fests every 2 weeks haha. And thanks for you input about the ideas. I'm always thinking of new ways to expand my reaches!!

Happy new year!!! Newsletters are always fun to read, so two of them every month is a big win for me lol I looked up what Barapalooza is and it looks super interesting, but the benefits of living on another continent say no to me 💀 Sometimes I see those dev ads and I'm just like "I could totally do that!!!" Only to remember that I also have my own projects I need/want to work on and it makes me a little sad... About the page with downloadable stuff, by all means yes, I'd say it would expand your reach more and would make people more interested into supporting you (probably, idk I might just be rambling here) (Oh also Luigi's Mansion my beloved 👁️)

💖 glad you think so. I'll come up with more segments as I go along!! And as for the boy, it's a complex story, but basically we broke up ONLY bc he had to move away, but it fell through only a week in because he injured himself and he moved back. So we're like..... confused bc he still intends to leave but it'll likely be a bit before he can leave now. So like... do we get back together??? 🤪 life is complex.
