One thing that I really love in this arc is how the conflict is handled. Oda does this a lot, but I think this arc is the first time where it's part of the main plot theme: the way he lets all the sides of the conflict speak from their point of view to make the whole picture.

so yeah skypiea is actually one of my favorite arks mostly because of the weird creatures, funny meme moments, I also think you learn the dynamic of Robin with the group since it's her first island exploration with them. It also introduced a lot of things that come into play later. Jaya/Skypiea is in my top 5. Also Jack.... don't let them skip G8 that is one filler that HAS TO BE WATCHED!!!!

I personally love Thriller Bark. Loved it more than Skypiea and Alabasta on first watch. Have a few favorite clips I liked to watch and rewatch from that arc. Since I’m enjoying Skypiea far more than I remembered, I’m curious about how Thriller Bark will feel to me this time around. Especially since it seems we’ll get the one pace version

Pleaseeee watch one pace for long ring, the filler in that arc is unbearable! Also, thriller bark has some of the most hilarious moments in the show, but also some of the cringiest lowest moments. It did ruin a certain character for me, but overall the arc wasn’t horrible. Long ring is though lol

I love all the arcs of OP, but I really love Skypia. I don't understand how the story of the Shandians and the resident's of Skypia don't resonate or matter to you, especially if you're someone living in america. ESPECIALLY if you're a white person living in America. My ancestors have nothing to do with the Native Americans or America. But does this story in OP not make you think about the conditions of the Native american reservations in real life? Of history? Geks don't really look like they want to talk about that aspect of this arc. Almost seems like they're uncomfortable to even bring it up.

A lot of reactors skip LRLL, Geks probably will watch it thanks to the fans voting in favour of watching it (me included). As for One Pace, they all seem to enjoy One Piece far more with the fixed pacing. If anything they are forced to watch the OG because of the community, I can only imagine how much higher they would have rated Alabasta with One Pace. I'm convinced there isn't a single arc that they wouldn't enjoy more with one pace over OG. Only arcs from here on out that really don't benefit from it imo are W7 and post EL.

Just some random things: That old guy speaking to young Wyper is not Gan Fall. Vari means Electric Discharge, a Japanese onomatopoeia for crackling electricity. Kari means Electric Illumination, also the name of a Malayan god of thunder. Like half the comments have already said, DO NOT SKIP any canon arcs. This is like skipping a season of a live action show. It doesn't make sense to. Especially with One Piece, something insignificant to you right now might have some importance in the future. This arc is the prime example of that.

Everytime theres a weird translation in the one pace version i feel vindicated in my dislike for it. A lot of manga translations and even some normal show versions have the simplistic japanese to english translations where they dont care about Ls not being pronounced right and what not so you end up with translations where it says "zolo" instead because thats the correct written form but japanese dont pronounce Ls so it sounds like zoro instead.

I do love a certain aspect of Thriller Bark, but the main plot until the ending is IMO by far the worst in all of one piece sadly, though the aesthetic is fun.
