Jordan

Great chapter! You've been COOKING with this arc!

X_XSilver

I like his use of it. Gives the series a unique flavor. Feels like other words like abomination are used so much that they hold less weight.

David Ballantyne

You know, you use the word miscreation a lot, but it's an incredibly uncommon word. There's also abomination, freak, monster etc. miscreation always stands out so much.

Andre

F5

mrthorwahl

I've been thinking and hoping the same exact thing. The Peaks deserve a break and a save from the fate of Zecia sector. They are also absolute fighting maniacs like Zac...

Lex Luther S

And a plus, greatest gets to be commander of the new Atwood flagship, that C grade beast of a ship carl was able to convince to help em out. He'll go out claiming the lives on any kan'tanu foolish enough to remain in the zecia sector after the Zubor sectors fall.

Black Rose

Would be cool like those characters

SPSTAN

Lol

Siethrobo

He blew up his soul

Seamus Harley

Side thought: when the event ends, I wonder if Zac will invite the peak family to join the Atwood empire. Zac said that the undead side of his empire is getting to strong and it would repay greatest for the bangle he got way back in book 2. Just a thought.

Rabauke

That is true, and it remains a foundational aspect of his development. In my understanding, however, it does not represent an absolute improvement on a grand scale. Instead, it is merely a necessary step toward bigger upgrades, like the others mentioned here. It is one essential step among many. His survivability has always been one of his strengths, and now he is probably only marginally tankier than before. The benefits of this breakthrough are good for Zac’s future improvements, but in a direct comparison between him and the other Eons? We know he is the lucky one, but they will probably improve as well—each in their own way, using their personal means to exploit the trial. The brief encounters with them didn’t seem particularly encouraging in this regard. What I want is a clearer picture about his improvements in comparison to the orhers.

DrSubterfuge

@Jeff I was referring to OPs wish to recapture the simpler times of his dominance on Earth.

DrSubterfuge

He and the spirit got whammied by a magic "give up" circle operated by three Monarchs. It was so effective he didn't even notice the clearly uncharacteristic shift in his thoughts and blacked out immediately after. Presumably, the spirit was successfully subdued and taken away, and they left Zac with Mei’Er so she could help him recover.

Omiso

That's the effect of the rope the Elders were using to bind the mutated life spirit. Since Zac was inside the range holding it he too was affected by it. It's obviously a powerful item to be able to affect Zac who has plenty of experience with that kind of effect.

Lucky Jack

Am i the only one who thinks the ending is wierd, like „existens is futile, only a Delay of-„ that doesnt Sound like zac. Like Even if he caught the spirit, the eldern want him for some reason. I‘m just saying, zac sounds druged out in the end.

zukerburg

I think he still as bit to go untill he's on par with them but it should be doable before the main event starts I think he'll need to at least push his dao of defiant war to middle stage, push his core back to high quality, upgrade a few more skills to late D grade, upgrade his axe and haro to middle D grade and further improve his bloodline along with maybe some other buffs like maybe reaching middle grade cosmic attunement or something similar

Dro

Is Zac sick? He made it through that entire adventure without blowing anything up!

Jeff McCulley

Steamroll? He was behind all of them. Catching up just puts him on an even footing.

Nathan Bauer

I thought he got the heart curse methods from the Black Heart Sect?

Palmer Evans

Jeff agree. Enemy related to this book will emerge before the Eternal Heritage trial arc is over

DrSubterfuge

It's all vibes man. He got some levels, and he will be competitive (reaching peak Hegemon is looking increasingly likely given all the resources the domains are throwing at him), but he's never going to steamroll everyone in a case like this because these are among the best of the best in his generation, full stop. Have to keep power creep under control, you know? This isn't a small pond like Earth or even the Tower.

DrSubterfuge

While domains don't result in taking a persona with him, a good outcome here (which he surely got) should improve the veteran persona. I'm half expecting that associating the name Lord Atwood with it will be important in the future.

Jeff McCulley

Correction. Didn’t get any more goodies…yet.

Jeff McCulley

I’d bet he sees it before the end of the Fifth Pillar arc.

Jeff McCulley

I suspect he’s catching up to them fast.

Jeff McCulley

That depends on if the Courts interfere with each other. Remember that Sothorom, the Kan’Tanu Pope, originally found the heart curse methods in a Limitless Empire graveyard? And that his curse manifested faces on his skin? This thing may be connected.

Jeff McCulley

In this case, he’s just trying to improve his fate with the Hollow Court. Though it won’t be the Wendimars this time, but his veteran identity. Unless they just credit Lord Atwood? After all…there was no Bloodline Stele here. Or fellow Holy Son to recognize him.

Bernhard

With a memory lantern he gets a new personality in a memory domain he can improve his fate with the corresponding court

Andrew

Thank you!

Alexander

His life constitution just took a whole ass step in like a week. How is that not real progress enough?

Sirloki

Ha! So say he does actually win this memory? In the previous memories, he won a persona to take out with him. Which would he get this time? Will he suddenly take up stringed instruments?

carson

Man for a second there at the end I thought this had all been some strange vision and he was still hearing Hope for the first time.

Nathan Bauer

Since we have gathered that the Ultom Court titles are related to the main item held within and the items within the courts relate to the lower planes, then I am thinking this book is one of the Ultom Court defining treasures. Best guess is Anima Court because the title is Soultaker of Ultom.

Flameboy

Could it be related to the original Kantanu cult or sect? Or is it the Lord of the Realm?

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

DrSubterfuge

Depends on your definition of good I guess. He didn't get any more goodies, but he already made out like a bandit on that front. Success didn't cost him anything that can't be easily replenished and he's even getting free healing for that. Seems good to me.

Rabauke

I need just one chapter to get me on page what kind of benefits Zac really accomplished till now. It feels like he only finds clues to his cultivation, next steps, future breakthroughs and so on. As if he only solidifies his foundations but the real progress is marginal at the moment. I can't say where to place him right now with all the eonic seeds around. Just thinking about the prince, the insectoid, the elemental and so on. Is he close to them? Is he miles away? Surpassed them already? I don't know. Always to be the underdog is kind of his thing, to struggle, sure true, that's his path but just one time I wanna feel like the old days, like early on where it was clear that he could beat the others and build a corpse tree and dress in jewellery. Fancyer times, simpler times. Enjoyed the chappy nonetheless

Omiso

Zac is fine the evil spirit has been captured he'll probably wake up outside the memory alive and the problem will be fix. I'd say that's a good ending.

Omiso

The only reason Zac choose to wait and then smash instead of blowing it up from the start is because he need it alive yet that fight was definitive proof when in doubt blow it up! lets hope he learned his lesson and never do that again. Also Zac just made a new powerful enemy who will show up many eons from now and ask him "boy how are you alive? never mind wanna read a good book?"

Lex Luther S

Neat. Seems even a monster like zac can struggle against the infinitely weird beings and creature of the multiverse. Those like kator would have had no choice but to cut their losses and run in the face of such a weird monster. This also makes me think zac is likely the only one to have been able to properly combat that corrupted spirit. An ascended lord wielding the pure daos of life and death are impossible unless following the route of samsara and I still think they wouldn't have been able to solve it. Well, seems a mighty fine and hefty reward is in store for Zac and Co. To a faction housing autarchs, lining the pockets of 3 hegemons surely won't be that big a dent. Maybe, just maybe zac will even get ahold of a C grade spatial ring.

Indy

now im unsure if the ending was good or not ^^

Tom C

Let’s go!
