Not necessarily, from what I’ve learned. Even in house animators usually prefer strong guides, they just have more flexibility to suggest ideas or differences (in our prod at least). But they don’t exist to solve problems boards couldn’t handle. However, I definitely have a tighter boarding style than is necessary, Glitch gave us a generous amount of time for boards so I just did what was fun for me.

Love seeing the boards for these scenes <3 How would you say the boards on KOG compared to TOH in terms of tightness? I'd imagine working more directly with the animators would allow the boards to be looser than on a standard shipped pipeline, but I could see either way.

That scene of Frankie sitting in front of the monitor has been living in my head rent-free since the pilot. I haven't seen too many theorists catch the significance between that and the scene where Andi walks in, but it's absolutely fascinated me as to what's going on with Frankie.
