He's probably one of my favorite characters to draw. From a purely technical stand-point, beautiful characters can be frustrating and boring to me. Gimme designs that have lots of wrinkles and malice.

Sometimes designs just change from boards to finish. The prop designer came up w the idea for a vial instead and I thought it looked more interesting.

Beauty has to adhere to conventions and rules. Ugliness, in that sense, is boundless because it can be anything without regard for any rules. I’m also curious that the drug Sparky shows off in the storyboards seems to be a (pink?) powder…
