Figure Drawing but make it *storyboards*
🕑 Added 2025-01-27 16:25:01 +0000 UTCI try to go to an uninstructed figure drawing class weekly, and anyone who does this knows that some weeks you’re just not hitting it. Everything‘s coming out weird, maybe you’re distracted by something else, so what could be helpful is turning it into a completely different kind of study. I was having one of those weeks and at the last second in the last round of poses. I just decided to do a bunch of random composition studies. Trying to make everything around me moody and interesting. It was the most fun I had in a figure drawing class in a really long time and I might keep doing stuff like this because it pertains to my interests in storyboarding and storytelling more than my old obsession with perfecting anatomy.
Bonus Ghost.

When one is a creative, can anything ever be perfect? Or do flaws stick out like screaming banshees, that you have no idea how anyone misses when they complement the work...

In the process of creating Storyboards/Animated Anything. Are these kind of pieces somewhere to be found in the creative process or are these more like derived from something you'd see in the creative process only adjacent to a Storyboard?

No, these are what thumbnails may look like. Finished boards are a bit more polished

100%! It’s a part of my job to constantly draw things I’m unfamiliar with and I’ve been doing that for 20 years so, finding time for comfort is VERY much necessary haha.
!GoodQuestionState!
You made it moody and peaked my interest!

I feel that, to be an artist is to feel clunky. I’m glad you’re finding your footing.

Do they know that they’re in the same room with the person who created one of the greatest animated shows of all time?

As a HS drawing teacher I always tell my students that there's a lot of growth that comes from drawing what you're not comfortable with or using a medium you don't like. But as an established artist, like yourself, I think being able to translate and make relevant what you see to your interests is probably just as valid, if not more so.

As someone who just took up drawing recently, it’s inspiring to see someone I consider a very good artist also continuing to actively improve. Keep at it Dana

That is actually a pretty cool idea

Makes me realize that maybe I have to spice things up every once in a while when I get stuck with my art. Love the idea of turning it into a storyboard-esque sequence. Also hi to little Ghost ♡

This is roughly what a storyboard looks like? For example like you did for "Not what he seems"? Or many other episodes of other series? Amazing. I love to get a glimpse into animation and it's production steps. I would love to see you show us more of these processes. Also hi Ghost!
