Well, after getting the pc checked, it seems it was a power supply issue, but one that managed to magically fix itself after a new PSU was plugged in to check then the original one was installed again. And since things seem to have been stable ever since, I'm tentatively getting back to work aga...
February Update
Something about this month doesn't seem to like me, at least it wasn't a cyclone this time. My PC decided it had had enough last night and died. And while i do have access to a small laptop, it doesn't have any options to plug in another screen and is far too small to effectively draw on...

After having to do an OS upgrade, i've had to get back to trying to reconfigure all the settings for things, especially tablet drivers. i think i've got it sorted to what it was so hopefully things haven't changed in between this and the previous image. more fine tuning will be going on ...
