Congratulations! You are a normal adult having normal adult feelings! As a teen or young adult, we react badly and fear rejection. But as a mature adult, we can be happy to have taken a good decision. Adapting to a new life being single again takes time though so don't try to rush it. Enjoying vacation, spending time with friends and family like you did, that's excellent!

Good advice, thank you James! It's hard to accept that sometimes, you can just be fine after things that would normally make you feel bad. Emotions are weird, man!
I know the feeling, that you feel better than you should. Honestly, it sounds like everything is more or less fine so don't feel guilty. For all the breakups that go poorly (which is most of them) be thankful for one that didn't. Of course, keep a watch on how you're feeling, and be honest with yourself, but don't deny pockets of good feeling time when you can get it. Glad you have a great trip to Paris and thanks again for sharing.
