The Lunduke invite sounds like a trap. I'd avoid it. I'm use to subscriptions being a bit noisy and I can set rules if they start bothering me. Really enjoying the daily show! Cheers!

That's, as usual, a perfect way of putting it! I will definitely not attend, I was already pretty much decided, but just going by what everyone is saying here, it's confirmed :)

You do not require anyone's permission to thank no to an interview invite any more than you do to thank no to a badly matched sponsorship offer. The audience you describee already despise your existence and/or opinions - regardless of whether you choose to support their platform of choice with your time & efforts or not. You are likely right that your comment section could be firebombed, but that seems likely whether that audience was made aware of it via your presence on the show or the host mentioning that you decline. Presence would just make more ammunition more easily available. It is a shame that other hosts have participated with either heartfelt support or felt the above as having their online presence held hostage, to which they responded by giving in and participating. Perhaps following along the popular right wing media idea of "fairness" meaning you must go cast an "opposing view" holder from the local asylum, to match up with the field expert you're interviewing? Those character flaws are their own and they need to own them. You do not have to.
