Yes, it's too risky, they just have such a habit of quitting on projects, they can't be relied upon*

I would never trust Google with anything, let alone a framework such as Flutter. I realise that companies have budgets to meet etc, but when they just don’t stick to things they start for the mid/long term and just shelve or reduce work for no apparent reason, then I’ve found before that they can’t be trusted for much else.

Yeah, if Google leaves it to the community, it's probably not going to do so well... It's annoying to see Google always scaling back on these things, and never sticking to things after a few years.

I've been using Flutter to make my own app for the last 2 years or so. TBH I'm very happy with it, its cross-platform experience is great, the documentation is great, Dart has a good balance of being structured without being too verbose, etc. I'll be very disappointed, if not surprised, if Google kills it in a few years though. I figured it was safe because they use it for some of their internal apps. I hope they continue to support it, because even if it could be sustained by just the open source community later, I think it'd be in a maintenance-only state, and the ecosystem would take a big hit. If worst comes to worst, I can port to Avalonia UI though.
