I bet that Google will not sell the data to other Ai companies if the youtuber doesn't agree to share their content for ai training but that Google will train their own Ai on said content without respecting the YouTuber's choice anyway.

For very obvious reasons, I am always skeptical of Google, but on the surface this sounds good. But is it just trying to appear to play nice? That is the real question, especially when they are under the scope of the legal system in the US and EU.

Wow, that's almost wholly good news from Google! Treating the creators of AI training content as business partners instead of a data resource, providing choice, credit, and compensation, that'd completely change the AI game in a positive way. I'm impressed / glad they went this route before they were legally obliged to. Here's hoping this pattern continues, whether through legality or norms π.
