Should we have kept flying Saturn? And more fun facts about the Shuttle Engines
🕑 Added 2024-06-28 20:33:20 +0000 UTCHonestly, there is a pretty strong argument that the Shuttle should never have even been considered and NASA should have kept just refining and flying Saturn. Ignoring the fact it was a political impossibility in 1970, I discuss my thoughts on this.
Also, I've put together some of the more interesting facts I learned about the Shuttle engines that I never had time to include in the main video.
In this video I reference the following:

Or is it that you have found a secret soviet enclave that, to this day, just exists to send men into space ?

What a dumb mistake! It’ll be because I’ve just finished recording the audio for the buran video where I say ‘Soviets’ dozens of times.

Minor nitpick but at about 4:34 you make a mistake and say that the soviets are still around and doing space stuff :p
