Thank you for reporting. The beast index will be removed in the next update as it has been causing many bugs and is planned to be replaced with a better version of it.

They can be accessed directly by using the level select, otherwise they are after the second boss battle.

During the new Gil scene (for me at least) if the male rat catches you while to the right of the female rat he eventually just runs to the left off screen and the game softlocks. Other than that, wonderful work~
