Containment Unit Update - 3D Printable Cartridge Clips and Cradle (including Haslab compatibility!)
🕑 Added 2024-12-22 21:01:14 +0000 UTCFor those of you building out the Ecto Containment Unit interface, I have an update for you! After finally receiving my Haslab 'Two in the box' ghost trap, I decided I needed to revisit the way trap cartridges are 'clipped' into the ECU. A few considerations:
The Haslab trap cartridge is a very snug fit in main trap body so the clip needs to be solid to resist pulling the trap body out.
The Haslab trap is also more substantially elevated from the 'base' due to the larger/taller wheels. I don't want my trap to clumsily fall onto the ECU base and risk damage (or just a clunky experience.
To accommodate these concerns, I designed a new clip + cradle piece for BOTH the Haslab trap and my own 3D printable movie trap files. Depending on which trap you want to regularly use with your ECU interface, you can easily swap out the clips using 3mm hex screws which tie into the rear interior grill piece of the ECU portal.
Special note: How do you unclip the cartridge after it is securely clipped?
For the 3D printed cartridge, you can lift the cartridge up to clear the clips and then pull it out.
For the Haslab cartridge, it's a little tighter - you can 1. lift the rear of the cartridge up and 2. give it little twist/pull to dislodge it from the clip.

Yep, add the clip and then the bracket in front of it. And it takes the cartridge perfectly and supports it

So it's just the clip and the support that needs to be swapped and added? The rest is the same. (crosses fingers because I just finished printing the majority of it :) )
