I’m a bit behind on this pod and have been catching up but I have been listening to the RT podcast from the start and I just listened to an episode yesterday of Burnie talking about his high school and how they were separated by a soccer field in size and just the absurd about of kids that went to the two and the notable celebrities he went to school with there. Just such an odd coincidence that these conversations that are separated by around 15 years I listen to nearly back to back

Funnily enough, I'm actually an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint (or Latter-day Saint) and I know tithing is a sticking point for a lot of people, but I guess everyone has their thing. For us, tithing is, as mentioned, 10% of our increase (or income) and it's used to help build church buildings and maintain them, as well as distributed amongst those who are less fortunate and used in humanitarian and charitable things. As for the Church knowing how much you make, I mean, yes if someone really wanted to look into it they could delve deep into it and find out, but since the information is highly confidential (as you can imagine) the number of people who know are very limited. I used to be one of those people that handled peoples tithes and I can honestly say I never paid attention. That doesn't mean that there aren't those that do, but hey, no ones perfect. Also worth mentioning, the tithes aren't used to pay church leaders like Bishops and teachers etc. Anyway! Not sure if any one cares, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in :)
