You know, i owe Scarlet an apology. I was very hard on her in the last book. Said some very uncomplimentary things that in retrospect, she doesn't really deserve. Yes, we know the inevitable is going to occur at some point regarding Philippe and that won't be easy for Sully, but in the here and now, she's acting MUCH more responsible than Chey in this scenario, and is seemingly trying to give it, and Byron & Sully, the respect of being properly engaged and trying to make this actually work as it's own worthwhile experience, rather than a means to an end. It probably helps that as this unfolds, she's obviously learning new things about herself she never knew, including her and Byron sharing an interesting connection that allows them to laugh and comfort each other. Chey on the other hand.... not a bad person, but boy is she good at rationalizing some pretty awful decision making. As per usual KT, you do an awesome job with these things. It's never predictable and always fascinating how things evolve. Can't wait for the next chapter!
