Found some typos: But in eyes those black Or maybe she he disappointed her. Kimmy called his name, tried to pul him back when they met for the Jay game

I think your second paragraph above is spot on. I don’t agree with the conclusion about being honest though as that path is a very different one than we have seen so far. In my opinion, it would essentially be a different story and would contradict much of what we have seen from the characters up to this point. Eventually, I think Josh gets the full confession from Kimmy, I just think it will come so late that it can’t save him. We will see. He might not even “believe” it by then. Anyway, I don’t think we are there yet. This is kind of a sexual horror story, and as Devlin said, “now it gets good”.

It's interesting to see Kimmy react to Josh, where there are moments that she appears to contemplate a confession when Josh makes an assertion she knows to be untrue. Like Josh saying he's sorry he ever made her play that game and she gets grim for a moment, because she knows her actions preceded the game by a significant sum of time. Josh's game had nothing to do with her own reasoning or decision to go down this path, it merely became an added conduit to feed her desires once they started playing. (And a way to potentially convince Josh of allowing her free reign, at least before everything fell apart) I do agree that Kimmy is trying to wave a magic wand and make everything go back to the way it was before. Before her indiscretions, before her evil manipulations, before the game. Mostly, i think, because she just wants his love back. A love she's made it clear many times she doesn't feel like she can do without. Her way of doing this is patented Kimmy succubus manipulation, but she doesn't seem to realize how broken Josh is from her actions. I'm wondering if this particular scene makes that clear and how she will approach Josh after he ran away. That will make all the difference in how things move forward. Again i'll say i wish Kimmy would tell Josh the truth. He asserts it would destroy him. I assert it would set him free. Allow him to pick up the broken pieces of his psyche and put them back together in some semblance of order. Then he could move forward with Kimmy in a new game. One where there are no boundaries between them and THEY can run circles around Devlin. No betrayal, no acrimony, no embarrassment, no panic. Both of them understanding the other and fulfilling those needs, together. But this requires Kimmy to be someone who i'm not sure she can be anymore. We'll see!

Not clear to me Kimmy is trying to rekindle the marriage of who they once were. It seems to me that Kimmy briefly considers, then dismisses the idea of a full confession, rationalizing a broken Josh as the outcome. She offers him an "as if I never did those things with Devlin" future where, at some point she will just have to return to work because "we need the money." Josh already knows the truth and Kimmy's offer would prolong his emotional and sexual purgatory by taking the truth off the table forever. It would leave Devlin out there always, returning to Kimmy's flower sooner rather than later, all to be ignored by Josh. Kimmy and Devlin need this current angst by Josh so that they can make hime dependent on the lies to fuel his loyalty. What a chapter, kt.!

Well it comes through in the text that they are both in love with the person they married. They are both just different people now. Kimmy is trying to rekindle the old relationship but Josh recognizes, perhaps unconsciously, perhaps only sexually, that what Kimmy is trying to do is not possible. They will have to find a new way to connect now. We will see how that plays out.

The twists and turns of Josh's mental state were somewhat confusing here because of some of the conclusions he draws, but i think that may be the point? It's the portrait of a man who is bewildered by what he's feeling, the scenario he's in and completely baffled as to what path he should take. Wracked with indecision. Hence the multiple failures at arousal and having sex with Kimmy. Wanting to, but feeling unworthy, feeling betrayed. Needing the truth, but not wanting it because he already knows what it is and it's destroying him. I feel like what really did him in here was Kimmy's reaction physically, that her words didn't match what her body was doing and it brought everything into stark, brutal focus. What i truly wonder from all of this is how things move forward. This is clearly what Devlin wanted. A Josh who feels unworthy, who thinks Kimmy is better than him, who should only have sex with a physical specimen as awe inspiring as Devlin. For Josh to determine he can't have sex with Kimmy, only Devlin should, and then tell Kimmy that. Beg her for that. But, i don't think that's what Kimmy wants. She's said time and time again that sex with Devlin is physically the most enjoyable she's ever had, but it means nothing without Josh. She craves sex with Devlin, but she's an empty vessel full of pain and anguish without Josh's love. She needs sex with Josh because that's her emotional connection. Her way to show devotion to the man she loves, even though she's betrayed him countless times. She doesn't want a broken man who is afraid to touch her. That's the whole point of what she's trying to do here, retain that emotional connection through physical affirmation of how she feels, even if it isn't the greatest sexual turn on. I wonder if she'll draw the conclusion that she needs to tell him the truth, or her typical Kimmy-fied half baked facsimile of it, to help move him into a different mental space. I don't know if i would say it's "clear" on what Josh does from here, but it feels rather predictable. What isn't, for me, is how Kimmy reacts to this... and how she responds to Devlin because of it. Greatest (and most devastating) show on earth, KT.

This was one of the more impactful reads I've had from KT in a while.

Fantastic portrait of a man who has now developed an all encompassing sexual fetish so that he needs it just to get excited. It’s never been done better. Josh is addicted now and he behaves in ways familiar to all addicts. It’s not their game, it’s Josh’s game “my precious!”. He’s not letting her take that from him. How dare she? He needs it. Kimmy thinks they can go but there’s no way back, just embrace the change and move deeper in. This is great stuff. BTW, Josh is going to dive so deeply into his fetish that the truth will have virtually no impact, in my opinion. Have you heard the joke - “ Whip me, beat me!” says the masochist to the sadist. The sadist curls her lip cruelly and just says, “no”.

This is agony to read but what i thought Josh would feel if he found out. I hope he finds out the whole truth, so that at least he knows fully what he has to deal with.

Josh is a broken sad sack of a man. The inner monolog is heartbreaking. Is there a recovery from this. Yes ..it seems he has PTSD...regarding Kimmy and Devlin...It like everything is breaking though at once. The realization of what he almost believe has happen between Kimmy and Devlin...tragic ..Full of hopefulness ..shattered to pieces...A shell of himself....where does this go from here. Josh is destroyed...Period!!! Just really sad...really sad!!! Great work KT.... brilliant but sad!!!
