Really starting to get the feeling that these goobers would not have been helpful against the Devil. That paladin is falling pretty short of getting Arlan even to half health, and the fact that he needs to concentrate really hard and chant to use a basic spell is not a point in his favor.

future sight works well with sanguine bond. he has to stay within 10 paces for 10 seconds. this would make it much easier to keep the opponent w range. also he can use it to spot risks, which his skill set is dependent on because it puts him close to the enemy. also, he can already punch above his weight class. what he needs is a way to better his existing strategy, which is to outlast his enemy, which fs is better for. the problem w cc is how is he gonna hit an opponent stronger than him often enough for cc to really be useful.

In my opinion, taking into consideration the disproportional rise in spell and martial art costs, rising health and endurance numbers at higher levels, battles of attrition may become more and more relevant. Combine this with the main goal of the protagonist, which is a payback against demonkind. Cumulative catastrophe would be the best long-term choice, especially if attacs become faster, stronger, and more accurate for all including deamons.

Cumulative Catastrophe seems like it synergizes with his skills the best, but Future Sight seems wildly amazing. I personally prefer Future Sight. He is going to have more options as time goes on, Cumulative Catastrophe would let him dominate a stronger class of being and hit a little above his weight class more easily. On the other hand if he could use Future Sight correctly his ability to dodge, deflect, critically hit, protect, ect would all go through the roof, a second sounds like a short amount of time but anyone who has ever sparred understands it is also a lot more than it sounds like, throw in superhuman speed and processing (which he already has) and it it gets even better. In short CC lets him punch above his weight class, FS puts elevates him to the next level outright. Or CC gives him power, FS gives him options.

Absolutely same, been hoping the previous two chapters as well

Thank you for the chapter, I naively wished that i would get to see both the talent options and time loop upgrade options this chapter.

Future sight might lead to a good upgrade later but 1 second is to short. If time loop didnt activate automatically when he died i could see a use but it doesnt

I’d go with cumulative catastrophe, his build is built around prolonged encounters and wearing them down which definitely works, until things like Xhag, where their ressources are just too high or he needs to end it quickly. This talent would even the playing field as it increases everything, their resources would decrease faster, along with their dexterity, making them immobile with enough stacks, ultimately allowing him to hit even higher above his weight class. Not to mention, the extra second may help against an ambush but he has dark plate, negating all insta kill abilities against him and time loop if necessary, which he can still upgrade and has a extra use for
