Art! A Ramble by Chuck!
🕑 Added 2025-02-16 20:31:13 +0000 UTCI was on a vacation to recharge and hit the ground running. But I did spend a but of time collecting my thoughts on something and decided to ramble them at you. Forty minutes of me discussing art. It may be controversial, I hope it conveys my idea more of cataloguing rather than defining.

There is overlap between creative art and manufactured art, but that happens when someone makes their creative art into their lifetime's work/business. Authors who enjoy writing their books and also do it so they can eat. EDIT: I'm partway through, so I'll probably either edit this or reply to it later. The biggest thing I'm enjoying is that you're applying nuance AND defining your terms while giving quality examples.

My issue with AI is less to do with using it make art, but on those who use it so not having to use "artist" of all types. That and generative AI being built is such way that it copies lots of people making it plagiarism machines. As for art and AI, I can't help but agree with you the art it produces will never be creative art. Of course art is so hard to define, but I do think having humans in the loop is better things to have. I will say otherwise your points are great as always.
