(Chit-Chat) What I Learned in 2024
🕑 Added 2025-01-01 04:25:21 +0000 UTCHappy New Year to those who have already rung in 2025! And to my friends in the Western hemisphere, I hope that you are enjoying your last hours of 2024. I wanted to end 2024 with a chit-chat about what I learned (or re-learned) this year. A lot of what I learned is common sense, but knowing, understanding, and internalizing are very different concepts. And this year, with new experiences, I've really begun to internalize the basics. And In 2025, I hope to put them into practice.
Please enjoy this reflective chit-chat; though it can more accurately be described as a ramble. It wouldn't be a chit-chat of mine if it weren't all over the place, right?

12:18 Yes, he should absolutely work on his people-pleasing tendencies. But moving forward, I'll be much more patient with him and respect that—people-pleasing aside—what makes him most happy is seeing his loved ones happy.
20:50 Some luxuries are worth the money, especially if they fulfill needs that are not present in your life. Again, I'm not arguing that money cannot buy happiness. It absolutely can, even after basic needs are met. Access to a gym can work wonders compared to a yoga mat and dumbbells. I'm speaking more about (in my opinion) frivolous purchases: tourist attractions, expensive dinners, etc.

I'm glad to hear that you've overcome much your own people-pleasing tendencies, at least toward your girlfriend. I hope that my boyfriend is able to do the same! I'll be patient with him in the meantime because I know that he only means well. But it's good to hear a success story. I wish you and your love well! ❤️

Being a people pleaser myself I totally get why he does those kind of things. I learned to let most those pleasing things go. It hasn't changed me because I'm still a people pleaser but I learned to not be a people pleaser towards my gf and it has really helped our relationship👌🏻
