There should be a way to contact the support of a hosting site and get your copy righted work removed if there not one of the many rip off sites that don't care about the law.

Hecktony

It's not an easy problem to fix because Patreon emails updates. So literally any patron with an email (compromised or otherwise) has the full library of works backed on their inbox. Which in and of itself is kind of a unique problem that artists/authors face (i.e. a <5mb file being easier to steal and rehost than a 5 gb video).

Patrick Schuldt

I just checked it and there are more authors compromised... IIRC you can request from google to delete links to your specific novel if someone searches it in google. (I think I read that somewhere) I hope you get that fixed /a solution soon and continue to write this nice story 😊

Dude. i've just signed up to your patreon. It's not that expensive and i don't earn that much money. Either way keep up the good work.

Stephen

This is the unfortunate side of self publishing and serial writing. It is why many stop doing this once established. OTOH Patreon can make you a lot of money much faster than publishing your work.

Wanderer

At least it is not republished as someone else's which also happens... If it does you can ask on RR for advice to handle that.

Valter Anunciação

You thought people wouldn't pirate your work? It's always a matter of time.

Mislandor

That sucks my friend. You got a good story. But it does happen.

Wanderer

If it is the site i think of then you probably got batched with the rest. I know how their importer works. Basically, it takes user's session cookie and then scrapes ALL of the paid content the user has access to from all creators the user is pledged to. As far as i know the main site focus is furry art and porn so the most likely scenario is that you have got a furry that uses the scraper amongst your patrons.

John Pratt

Yeah, they do that to kill any prospective publishing deal. So I guess you could think it a compliment, they think you could sell this and are afraid the story will vanish when you do.

Bob

It's not just you, it's the whole patreon platform on there. Patreon must have a server clone on a compromised server in Russia somewhere.

SquiddlyWinks

Swine.

Allanther

Yes, I've reached out to Patreon, though I haven't heard back.

Darkdej

Also doesn't RR have some stuff set up to help in that regard as well?

Amelgar

that's a rather unpleasant turn of events. Have you tried contacting patreon? The site in question seems designed for crawling patreon content. Can't imagine they'd be pleased about that
