Character Spotlight: Goblins
🕑 Added 2024-10-08 03:52:33 +0000 UTCOne of the most numerous monsters in the world you find yourself in. While the weakest physically, they more than make up for it in numbers and a general disregard for their own safety. Early in your journey, you'll encounter an elven village beset upon by goblins. While elves are stronger predators than the goblins for all intents and purposes, they are pacifists that do not eat other living beings, and so they appeal for your help in dealing with the threat. Wanting to make allies, you accept and strike out towards the goblin warcamp, set on eliminating them once and for all. The goblins will be among the first monsters you recruit, and may play a minor role in the story beyond the first chapter. I'm hoping I can give them a very comedic group dynamic too, which I think will be a lot of fun and help set the stage for the tone of the game.
I'm really happy the goblins went over so well! In particular, I'm glad the Shaman was so popular. (Partially because she's a bit less typical than some of the other girls, which means I can probably branch out more, and partially because she's my favorite, too lol.) Now that I have both fodder and strong threats appearing as enemies, I'm thinking the next monster girl race to add may be one that makes use of unique movement, such as harpies or mermaids, or which ties into the story like elves, not sure which yet. I wasn't too sure how I wanted to do their spotlights, since there are so many of them, but in the future I'll likely go back to doing individual spotlights for monster girls once their build is released, same as vessels. I forgot to speak of it but yeah the Shaman has great ero allure. Her being old somehow makes going for her better??? It's such a weird thing.

You may be able to convince some of them to start eating meat and join you by feeding them your vessels in battle (Potentially, I'm not sure how the recruitment mechanic while actually shake out.)

I'll probably add UB absorption back in completely, possibly as a toggle. It's one of those things where it seemed very unpopular at first, but then when I removed it, it turned out a lot of people actually liked it.
