I don't know about Crawford, but Perkins has worked with CR in the past. He could be taking a less demanding job. At least one with less managerial rsponsiblities in exhange for focusing on the creative end. Sometimes it is nice to dial down a little but not turn off entirely. Going into business for yourself is a huge commitment, designing and writing adventures isnt easy but its not as demanding.

Spot on analysis. Hasbro has likely been dreaming of making D&D as profitable as MTG but that just hasn't worked out. I'm shocked over hot the VTT turned out. A year ago, my thought was as soon as the new VTT launched, Roll20 would be out of business (I hate Roll20, but I love Foundry). It seems that Hasbro has lost patience with all of it's investments that didn't pan out. Remember, they also sold a movie studio that couldn't turn a profit (D&D movie, Transformers One). The D&D brand is about to go on life support. Don't expect much in the future.
