The grandmothers problem is called Munchausens by Proxy. They make healthy kids sick so they can draw attention to themselves. They get to be a brave hero by taking care of the kid.

Saw this one in theaters. Glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, the gynecologist's son is from Full House as well as some other good stuff for halloween next month like the original "Pet Semetery" and "Wes Craven's New Nightmare"

Amber, the illness about parents faking or even causing their children to be sick is Münchausen syndrome by proxy. Glad you both liked the film, it was so fun to see teachers react to it! This has been one of favorite Arnold movies since it came out.
