I LOVE "The View" especially when Whoopi is there. She's a voice of reason and so intelligent! I've always appreciated her as an actress. Now I respect her as a savvy talk show host and as a human being.

The sequel has much more to do with music, and I know you will love it! It's much better than the first movie. It mirrored a lot of what I experienced in my life, growing up in a very musical family. I don't want to give anything away, but with this journey of music you guys have been on, you'll love the 2nd movie so much more! Speaking of sequels... TOP GUN: MAVERICK (2022)!!! PLEASE, CAN YOU BLESS US ALL WITH THAT REACTION?!?!?!
Wolf
all you gotta do is watch about 4 episodes of the view and you will never be able to stand another whoopi goldberg movie.
Jon
I would almost recommend Sister Act 2, as a back to back watch, or at least close. Lauryn Hilll nails it.
Jon
There's plenty of music in Sister Act that'll lift you up. Glad it won :D
Toby Smith
"Sister Act" is a fun movie, but I wouldn't call it a musical. It is a comedy that has music. A musical would be "Oklahoma" "Hamilton", "Momma Mia" "Singing In The Rain"
Amy Silknitter
Because sister act, a non musical is on the poll.
Amy Silknitter
Sister act isn’t a musical. My vote goes to Hamilton.
Patty Krause-Davis
Yes. I was actually just in my local community’s production of Sound of Music. I played Mother Abbess (for the second time)
Eddie Perkins
I'm not crazy about musicals, but I thought Chicago was great.
Lauren Gray
Sister Act and Sister Act II is a must watch, but if you want a true musical def check out Hamilton!! But seriously all choices are bangers on this poll
Raven Dark
Sister Act! OMG, you guys will love it.
Robert Greffey
Oh... and a couple of folks above have suggested Dreamgirls, and I fully endorse that. Banger of a cast, and probably one of my favorite dramatic performances by Eddie Murphy.
Robert Greffey
My favorite is probably West Side Story, but... guessing you guys will like Sister Act more, so tossing my vote that way. It's good fun.
Shutter Crazy
You’ll love Sister Act
Patty Estrada
Exactly lol
Karl Kraus
A little tangential comment here: I hope the polls you post at the end of the month is an adventure poll and a sports poll here are my poll suggestions: Adventure 1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (first of 5, but 1-3 are the only consequential ones to see) 2. Chronicles of Narnia 1 (first of 3 movies) 3. National Treasure (first of 2) 4. Spy Kids 5. Hidalgo Sports 1. The Rookie (personal favorite, same premise as Field of Dreams) 2. Coach Carter 3. Major League 4. Air Bud 5. Miracle 6. Little Giants It'll be fun to see what sticks on these
Karl Kraus
you should've saved Sister Act for another comedy poll that movie is so out of place the numbers speak for itself The movie that should be on this poll is the Sound of Music
Terdell Ferguson
MOULIN ROUGE is a must for any list. Fantastic and way out of the box of "normal" musicals. If you have an opportunity - give it a shot. Much of the music is source, and part of the fun of watching it is guessing what the song is - they're performed in different arrangements and given your music affinities it's right up your alley.
Toby Smith
"Oklahoma" is a musical I think you might like given where you live.
RC Romero
I love Sister Act, and I hope you two watch it. I absolutely love it. HOWEVER, it's not a musical. It's a comedy that has singing in it. My vote is for Hamilton
Patty Krause-Davis
Even if it doesn’t win you HAVE to watch HAMILTON and react to it. You WILL be blown away. I have seen it twice on tour in Philadelphia and once in NYC and it’s amazing!!!!!
Maya Bairey «InnocentSquad»
At least Hamilton would be winning if Sister Act were in a comedy category instead of musicals 😢
LL Kay
Some great older musicals are Brigadoon, Fidler On The Roof, The Sound Of Music, Funny Girl, Show Boat, Singing In The Rain, Hair, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Phantom Of The Opera (2004), and Paint Your Wagon. There are so many good musicals to explore
fire12wife
Makes me tear up every time!
fire12wife
I hope Sister Act gets it... then maybe someday y'all will react to Sister Act 2! I love it so much! It has a young Lauren Hill, with her stunning voice!!! Especially near the end!
Kristin D
Sister Act, absolutely.
Cat Whisperer
Ooo, I forgot "Jesus Christ Superstar"; that's a good'un, TOO!!
David Goodman
Because... Sister Act. But there really needs to be a second place poll
Cat Whisperer
For me, it was between "Sister Act", and "Mama Mia"!! I agree with those who said "Chicago"---and I would add "Rent"!!!
Tracy Geier
If Chicago had been included that would have been my vote for sure!
Casey Salley
I agree. To me a musical is when someone is doing an ordinary everyday activity and suddenly breaks out into a song that everyone in the world seems to know the words to. Lol
Patty Estrada
I also agree. Great movie to watch but it shouldn’t be on this poll. It might beat the other choices and they’ll have cheated themselves from watching an actual musical.
Patty Estrada
Yes, Chicago! Instead of Sister Act (which is not a musical) they should have put that instead.
John Smith
This musical has all we need so come on and take the ride to the other side 😂
Celia Moon
omg Jay will love hamilton, the music 😙🤌
Patty Estrada
I think I’m going to pick this one, if only for “This Is Me”
Singing Wordwright
How is Hamilton not winning this poll by a landslide? Also Dreamgirls, The Wiz with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, and Chicago.
Patty Estrada
Sister act is not a musical…at least not in a true sense like the other choices on this poll are. It’s a comedy that involves a choir so it has music in it…but no one breaks out into a full number in the middle of a scene. ‘Chicago’ ‘Moulin Rouge’ ‘Across The Universe’ all would have been better options for a musical poll.
Thomas Porter
These are all great! One of the most difficult choices I had to make!
Steph
Sister Act isn't a musical, I agree, still good but not really in this category
Steph
Hamilton for sure, then Mamma Mia
Keyuana Gray
Dreamgirls
Connor Fallon
Also, have you guys seen “Sound of Music” yet? That’s an amazing musical, and the views of Austria are breathtaking.
Casey Salley
I was hoping to see Singing in the Rain on here. But I will go with West Side Story on this one.
Maya Bairey «InnocentSquad»
HAMILTON YAYY!!! I have been dying for you to react to it, I would pay lol! Of all of these, it's the most modern, with rap battles and war and death and humor – I could go on but will restrain myself. It's just SOOO good.
Elizabeth Franco
Sister act is not a musical. You should have put Jesus Christ Superstar or Tommy those are real musicals. Sister Act 1&2 are comedies.
Mary Alice
Ok I couldn’t decide between Sister Act, Mamma Mia and West Side Story. You will love them all!! ( I have not seen the other two so I can’t say but I’m sure they are amazing too). A few others for future polls, Singing in the rain, sound of music, a chorus line, Oklahoma (if you haven’t seen it 🙂), Annie get your gun (oldie but goodie). So many more. Thank you for this poll.
Kevin
Wow, it would be awesome to see you react to Hamilton (which if you are not aware is the stage play but recorded) Also, I like Sister Act, but its not a musical
Connor Fallon
All good choices, but Sister Act is amazing!! When i was in middle school, about the time this came out, our chorus did some of the musical numbers from it.
J.Fro90
It's not counting my vote....for Sister Act (granted Sister Act isn't a musical though, it's a comedy that involves whoopi & the choir, the characters don't randomly break into choreographed song & dance scenes, rhebmusicbis on stages & rehersals.)
Jon
Sister Act all day long.. and I will be singing along too. Just be lucky ya'll can't hear it lol
William Benton
The original West Side Story is perhaps the best musical ever filmed.
John Smith
I feel like the greatest showman is the only real choice here 😂
