Elaborate

One he had found the pile -> Once though is always better! -> though more is Major flaw in the Empire's setup: Attributes. Paths can upgrade Skills and raise Attributes at the same time. If you lack the Attribute, you don't get that bonus. Unlocking a bunch of Attributes at the start will likely pay off big in the late-game.

If these Empire types take such narrow builds - they can be easily countered by an enemy who takes builds that break them.

It is very interesting to see to very confident individuals espouse the benefits and shortcomings of to completely different beliefs about the same thing. I tend to agree with Lefi in the end. The way that the empire prefers people do things strikes me as a control thing more than not. I'm sure it does help to a degree in specialisation. But when it comes to actually choosing what you want to be and do, you have to experience more things than what that limited path would allow. I thinknit is possible to be exceptional in either path. I do not believe for a single second that the almighty Emporer has only 8 skills, given what he can seemingly do. If he says he does, he is lying.

Daedalus

The pebble should be in his backpack- I guess it slipped past somehow, and his notes are in his notebooks, which are in his backpack

ShadeByTheSea

what happened to his pebble of blackstone? and the notes he had of it's creation?

Carlos Garcia

I am curious if the Paths become the limiting factor at any point. L

Carlos Garcia

It seems like you should always take a skill if you think you can level it. With how quickly he leveled throwing weapons, it seems like he should take as many skills that he can push to 60 asap. Those skills will all pay for at least 1 evolution, and then he can level the evolved skill too.

Nim

I am super curious to find out what (if anything) he's missing about the Almanac.

Scott Frederiksen

How dare you have a life outside of writing... think of all your poor readers!

Daedalus

Edwin has not found any way to make it into a proper, fully searchable database, and he'd like to *think* he'd know if it could do that. If it's not currently capable of it, though, that is very much within the grasp of an evolution.

Obran

Out of curiosity his Outsider Almanac only has a limited character length, which is fine. But can he use it like a spreadsheet? Rows and Collums. Can he format each cell/string/text block -- text, values, dates, formulas? Is his Almanac searchable? Can he group content separately by content? I guess what I'm asking is this. Is this the basis of a database? Or is that an evolution, or am I completely off target.
