That's why the long living races are mostly in the west. Dragonewts, levianewts, dragons, elves. And why they respect each other for that. You don't have to worry that your best friend will die from old age in the next hundred years.

You subscribed to the Tier 3 pledge.

While some of the elves are unlearning adults. Typical. Long living races feel the losses from a war way more than short living races, as (assuming a similar natality rate) they both recover their losses in the same number of generations, but one generation of the long living race can be 250 years, while one generation of the short living race can be 25 years. The war was 200 years ago, if I recall correctly. So, for the humans, it was 8 generations ago. Barring longevity magic, no one alive was in it. For the elves it was less than a generation ago. "My father/mother died in the war" or "I was there during the war." For them it is at the same level of the experience of King Drangleic, a loss they experienced directly. That makes peace talks way harder, unless the long lived races have learned to manage that kind of disparity. Seeing how things go between nations with a population with a long live expectancy and nations whose population has a short live expectancy in our world, there is little hope for that.

think aboutt. -> about Subscribing to the one year plan has opened up all the chapters, I don't think that was intended.

To be fair, the same generation which fought during the war are still alive now for the elves. But that was why Lord Armado gave that speech about elves being arrogant and treating humans like unruly, unlearning children.

*sigh* So, the elves hold all humans responsible for the atrocities of a few, and are all too willing to hold grudges for generations, but expect bygones to be bygones after a sizeable force of elves that slew the king of Artorias — who had been *invited* to Saelariel by their king — didn't represent the will of all elves, unanimously, according to the elves.
