Wait, can you get mad cow disease from monster brains? XD

Flying Goat

Clearly eating too many brains gave him mad cow disease. He should have stuck to eating livers.

- Originally, Bruised was going to pick up metal bars. But ribs are gruesome and badass haha. Still, yes, they're difficult. Back to metal bars of his cage. - I wanted Deen to crack here, and then take control again. We can make her cuss here because that's the sign she loses control. - True, relax is wrong to say there lol. And Erind forgot to react to the contact too. Thanks! - Good sugggestion on the line about movie blondes! - We can ramp up hysterical Erind a bit. I felt that part was lacking too. - I can add a line there for Erind to think of Deen as her pet so Erind would start to care for Deen more. - We have to use the title haha! - You're right. Thinking about Deen's place in this situation is what's missing here. Thanks for that!

Maybe we could have an ExD scene like that where Deen doesn't want Erind looking at other women lol. -> That would be hilarious. Maybe, when they go to Eve, there will be a strip-show? And Erind will be ogling go-go dancers and strippers, thinking smth like "who is Adumbrae and who is human?". Deen would think that Erind is actually attracted to scantily clad women and try to force her not to look. I can imagine Erind's reaction, "Wtf Deen, I'm 23, and a girl!" Then, after the whole thing is over, Deen tries wearing a super short skirt and a really cropped top, to which Erind reacts, "That does not suit you... besides, your core is almost visible." - If, of course, she keeps the core on her breast, which imo is not a very smart idea if you want to hide it.

OmniHumanist

Typos: She got some fire in her. -> She had some fire in her. ----- “Will he really die?” I asked innocently. -> Deen's followup 'Yes' is hilarious lol. Deen covered my eyes as if I were a kid, and a sex scene showed up on TV. -> Maybe we could have an ExD scene like that where Deen doesn't want Erind looking at other women lol. Even if it were possible, I wouldn’t want my body to become a reality-bending monster factory. I’m quite fine with how I look now. -> Blasphemy! Becoming more non human is amazing. And you also produce baby monsters? Maybe we could have Erind and Deen thinking about this later too when Erind starts using Blanchette. It'd also be an interesting topic for Erind to bring up to SpookyErind. Erind says she doesn't want to lose herself becoming a reality rending monster factory. And SpookyErind could be like, "What if you become a really cute reality rending monster factory that makes cute monsters?" But if I don’t do this, then I’d lose myself to the dark void that always creeps there, asking to be paid its due after giving me powers.” -> Erind also meets SpookyErind in a dark void. Although, I'm guessing its different than regular Adumbrae since I don't think people dream about it. That's actually one of the things I hope this rewrite addresses. Because it seems for most people, Adumbrae only speak to people, but SpookyErind can make Erind have weird lucid dreams. And then maybe Erind tries to find out more about this. Thanks for the chapter!

"Bruised Lover rushed to the pile of ribs and broke off a couple." - This would not be an easy fit, to break off a couple of bones. Also, very gruesome. Maybe he took a couple of bones that were already broken off and even dried out? Otherwise, they would be too slippery to hold. I would replace the ribs with some broken metal bars (that were part of a cage) "Erind, I need you to listen to me," Deen whispered. "After he dies—" "Will he really die?" I asked innocently. "Yes!" Deen hissed. "Look at all the—!" - I feel like Deen would actually say something like "Erind, don't look" because she would want to protect her from being traumatized. "Relax, Erind." Deen rubbed my back like she did during Professor Gallagher's class. "I'm not going to let you die. Believe in me." - I think the word "relax" is not appropriate here. She should say smth like "Don't worry, Erind". - We need to be clear about what is happening inside Deen's head at this moment (even though it is not mentioned in text) - she understands that they have very little chance of escaping. Maybe, she can win some time for anybody (police) to come? Maybe, she realizes, she will have to sacrifice herself? This is a very stressful situation, and it is OK for Deen to be unreasonable under shock: she might think that she will do her best to win the fight, or at least give Erind a chance to escape. Maybe she can seduce that guy?.. A swarm of ideas of different quality should be rushing through her now. ... Also, physical contact. "Sweeping legs won't work with that one, I thought. Too bad, my secret move was useless." - Maybe call it a signature move? To show that Erind even in this situation thinks about theatrics. "Blondes, especially the beautiful ones, were usually the first characters to die." - "Blondes, especially the beautiful ones, were usually the first characters to die, even before the opening credits. But if this were a movie, the opening credits would have passed already, right? Oops, I need to stay focused and not miss the moment I should use my powers." "Figuring that I should show some reaction, too, I started to cry." - maybe not just cry? Hysterical Erind should be fun to watch. Smth like "No, let us go! - I cried and pretended to shake the bars of the cage. If I did this for real, I would probably dismantle the whole thing easily." "They were like a rare animal that should be protected." - that's a good starting point for Erind to think of Deen as her pet, lol. "Deen and I looked at each other but didn't reply." - Deen should be really panicking at this point. "reality-bending monster factory" - "reality-rending monster factory" "This fight used to be Ramello's scene, but I didn't want to include him here because I think he should remain with the cops/human "faction." - I think it works quite well with Deen, but there are a few things I want to notice. This is supposed to be a high-stakes situation, but for Erind, it is not - and we know that because she is the main character, she can not just die here. But Deen can; she is in real danger, and not only because she can be killed by a mutant or Firio, but because Erind could sacrifice her or even kill (as a witness). And Erind should be thinking about those possibilities while watching the fight.
