- Oh, that's a cool info to know. I'll add that line about CIP. - In Erind's view, she's different but there's nothing wrong with her. Being labeled a psychopath meant that there was something wrong, so she won't admit to that. - I'll edit Deen's reaction to cleaning up. - As for DNA, it won't be human anymore. So any DNA samples from blood donations in the past can't tag them. But it also means that they can't have any medicals done now. - I'll add a line that Erind was kidding around with that line. I think I might've removed Erind grinning or something. - As for the Core appreciation part, I think we can have Erind tease Deen about hitting on her in a future scene since it'll add quite a bit of length to the scene and I don't want to rush it. Really awesome scene it'll be eventually. I'm noting it. - Good addition there about the box before moving on to the next scene. I'll just shorten it a bit. Thanks for all your help! I also added in some lines to jive with your edits. It made the whole chapter better.

“I’m not like a psycho or anything who can just ignore pain.” “Of co-course, you’re not.” She hesitantly chuckled along. “I didn’t say that you were.” - This is a good opening for some hints. -> “I’m not like a psycho or anything who can just ignore pain.” “This is called congenital insensitivity to pain, Erind. CIP.” She hesitantly chuckled along. “And it is usually a genetic disorder, not psychological. So no, you are definitely not a psycho.” Meaning, I wasn’t a psychopath. - I thought Erind should be honest with herself. Also, she should know about psychopaths; that would be in her interests. At least, to figure out how to live around people. “It’s no-not… You’re right, we should do that.” - I think Deen should have a visceral reaction to gore and related stuff. Maybe even trying to overcome it, to show her development. Something like, "I'm... I'll be fine, don't worry. I'll manage." “Our DNA… What does it look like? Still human or not anymore?” - That is a good place for the to remember that if they participate in any fights, they will likely leave traces that could eventually be used to uncover them. They should think about covering up their DNA traces. “What are you getting at? I can’t be confident because I don’t have a body as hot as yours?” - That's some unprovoked passive aggression from Erind to Deen. What is the reason behind it? I did it nonchalantly so she wouldn’t suspect I was hiding anything. - An interesting diversion strategy would be for Erind to pretend that she thinks Deen is hitting on her (or at least checking her out in a sexual way) and then play this card, eventually forcing Deen to protest, "I wasn't! I am not bi, you know. I'm not attracted to girls!" - This can also be a start for Deen's evolution into a possessive/obsessive friend who has some weird, totally non-romantic interest. “If possible, yeah,” I said, laughing so she’d think I was joking. I’d just eat a box in secret so she wouldn’t bother me. -> I suggest adding, "How the hell did she know I wanted to get a box? Is my core transmitting my ... feelings?... I don't have particular feelings. Urges? That would be a problem if, or rather when, I have an urge to kill somebody and eat their brain. I hope it is just a lucky guess, or I'll have to kill my best friend before it is too late. And then kill the whole fucking group. My sudden urge to kill rose, but Deen did not even flinch. Probably a lucky guess then. Otherwise I would have to come out at some point and tell them... that I am an Adumbrae. I'm never telling anyone I am a psychopath."

I'll fix Erind explanation a bit. As for the closeness, my assessment is that because I'm writing this chapter per chapter, I'm kind of isolating the instances of dialogue touching upon closeness, such that it doesn't register how often I mention them in the story. I'll edit that part too. Thanks for pointing it out! I think a good solution is to break up Erind and Deen for a while. That's why I didn't include Erind in the docks mission with Dario's group. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Thanks for the help proofreading. I get conscious sometimes when the story slows down because I'm comparing myself to other webnovels, which are quite fast paced. Although, slow burn stories seem to be spreading now.

As always, thanks for the support!

I think it would be better to have training underground then. -> I feel like Deen shouldn't have any difficulty acquiring or preparing an underground base for herself and Erind, given the wealth and influence of the Leskas... Heck, she could acquire something larger to use as a cover on top if necessary. Edit: Thinking more about it, considering the state of this world, couldn't it be expected that someone out there would be offering evacuation bunkers to the rich in this world? An analogue to the nuclear doomsday bunkers we see real-life billionaires fork up for? One of these, designed to protect the inhabitant from a titan prancing about topside, would be perfect.

But it might be too suspicious for two buildings to be destroyed around these parts. -> I think it would be better to have training underground then. And then maybe they bring in some giant rock or boulder to practice hysterical strength against. Because eventually, somebody will probably notice if this keeps going on. Of course, they don't need to be practicing hysterical strength all the time. They can do spars. “I know we’re both girls,” Deen said, looking over from the driver’s seat, “but I’m surprised that you have no hesitation undressing.” -> The spinoff is leaking in here! “Wait! Let me look at your Core,” she said, leaning in between the driver’s and passenger’s seat to reach for my chest. I didn’t stop her because I didn’t have a good reason either. She touched the sparkling, opaline Core. “So pretty…” -> Maybe when you restart the spinoff here Deen can be attracted to Erind's Core lol. I don’t know if I’ll have this connection! I complained in my head. This might be a problem. -> This would be cool, Erind being forced to feel other's people emotions, and then them suspecting something off about Erind. But at least she's part of the artificial hive. She could be like the Odd Duckling. It could also tie into Pino later since Erind will be able to make her own temporary 'hive' lol. And Then Erind is wondering if Spooky Erind is doing this on purpose. Myra handed us a box of cookies. I was about to shower her with gratitude when she told us that the box was just a disguise. Inside were pills from the Professor. Talk about disappointment of the highest order. -> We need to give Erind more sweets! I'm thinking of whether to have a shopping scene or not. Maybe just half of the next chapter. This week will be sort of relaxed in terms of content. Once we get to the docks mission, it'll be action and violence, so it's nice to have some calmness before it. -> Yeah, I think having a shopping scene would be good. It would be good to get some sports bras + reveal more about Erind's disdain for in person shopping. Thanks for the chapter!

No Name

Erinds attempts to explain away her actions with respect to hysterical strength and lack of pain perception were really quite awful, and more suspicious than just a straight "No idea"... especially when she had a perfect excuse for the situation. She obviously didn't have her head on straight when Deen found her, and was clearly in a shock state where she couldn't feel pain properly. Which does happen upon severe injury. She could have pinned the whole thing on the initial instance of hysterical strength shattering her arm, before the pain abruptly cut off and her mind went to la-la-land. "Also, since you did it without hesitation, it makes me feel that we’re truly close.” -> I've harped on this before, but again, explicit statements of closeness is cheesy and unnatural. I'd recommend having Deen act close instead. Having a close look at- and touching Erinds core is already a good showing of Deens stance on their (percieved, from Deens end) relation, considering its location on Erinds body.

"the blood we’ll be there to stay" > "the blood will be there to stay" Thanks for the chapter, it's nice to see the slow stuff sometimes for characterization, so don't worry about it too much
