The rabbit hole on this one went a bit deeper than I expected. But you can skip right to Hour One if you want, because there's so much to talk about with this one. I read comic books.
Lithtech, Romero involvement (sort of) and Doom-ish ambitions? Yeah, I don't know why I've never played this before either.
Oh, yeah, because KISS.
I don't even hate KISS but who could possibly expect a band-licensed game to be any good? The devs say they were working hard to make something that wasn't like Ed Hunter, Iron Maiden's weird rail shooter. They certainly succeeded, I'd play this game over that any day.

Ok but I have played Ed Hunter, like 20 years ago, and didn’t really get into it because it wasn’t a very interesting rail shooter. iirc Third Law said in an interview that they wanted to avoid making a game like Ed Hunter.

I remember distinctly getting a big box copy of this game, playing it pretty much endlessly for a while and then somehow the big box and my interest in the game just vanished without a trace. Yeah you straight up proved why.

LMAO you know how when yo’re a kid you play shitty games and for some reason you love them to bits and years later you find out they’re really shitty and everyone hates them? That happened to me with Blood 2 and Shogo, I played them for hours and hours and i Ioved them both, thats how I discovered you civvie, with your blood 2 video and I couldn’t belive how shitty it actually was, still love litech 1 games but oh boy now I have another game to look for, and play, thanks civvie! The production values just get higher each time I say to myself "THIS is top tier Civvie shit". It's like you keep one-upping just to make me continue to say it, ya crazy bastard!
