🐣 How was your guys' easter? 🐣
🕑 Added 2022-04-18 19:16:19 +0000 UTCWe didn't do much this year, unfortunately, no big family lunches BUTTT we did paint eggs, which I was absolutely adamant on doing. I know in North America it's not that huge of a thing but as an Eastern European I just gotta paint the eggs. I gotta haha.
I made my own dyes, as I've been doing for the last few years.
Purple/Blue = purple cabbage (when you add baking soda to the purple it turns into a bright blue-green-teal colour. it's crazy. science, you know)
Red = red wine (usually use beets but didn't have any)
Yellow = turmeric root
Orange = onion skins
Green = a mix of the blue and yellow
Last year my eggs turned out fuckin craAAAZYY but for whatever reason the blue this year just didn't catch. (The super saturated/colourful eggs are from last year). But regardless I think this year's turned out insanely pretty, with a soothing colour palette. Those tie dye eggs looks like marble. We did those by dropping some dye onto cotton and wrapping the egg in it and letting it sit for a while.
If you celebrate, what did you do? I'm curious. But also if you don't celebrate what did you do in general 😂

Ahahahahha that’s cool too not many people celebrate it too much. For me it’s just tied to childhood nostalgia. Good that you had plenty of time to relax and work on your stuff!

Yeah I’m doing the orthodox Easter as well. A few more days! I’ll make Easter biscuits and do more eggs 😅 what kind of stuff do you guys eat during Easter? We do lamb usually

That sounds incredible 😰😂😂😂 but really. I know I’m Russia they hollow them out by putting a needle hole in both sides and blowing out the liquid egg but how do you guys fill them with glitter?? I guess you make a way bigger hole to get the glitter inside 🤔 is there a name for this? I want to Google it 😍

Shit I was busy all week going to shows so on Easter I just rested up and chiiiilled. Worked on music later at night before finally knocking out. I almost forgot it was a holiday 🤷🏽♂️

Here in Greece we celebrate the Orthodox Easter on upcoming Sunday but I except it to be pretty good due to the fact that the last two years we were detained in our apartments due to covid.

Back In El Salvador we do some weird shit with easter eggs, where you hollow them out carefully and then fill them with confetti and glitter, wrapping the outside with colored tissue paper. You then spend the rest of the day violently smashing them on unsuspecting people’s heads ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
