So I moved to Canada [life & activity update]
🕑 Added 2022-05-29 19:45:17 +0000 UTCTLDR: I fled from Russia because Russian government convinces genocide against people of my nationality. Ended up with Canada. To live here I should have full time job, so I’m moving huge 20 kg paint buckets from one shelf to another for 40 hours per week now. On top of that my tax rate increased from 5% to 30%. Because of fulltime job I will take less commission slots and prices will go up because of tax increase. My apologies.

When my country is on fire, people keep dying and other horrible things, I spend a few months in my own with with Russian government which didn’t want to let me out. This explains lack of activity. But in the very end, I spend most of my savings and was able to fly from Russia to Canada.
I don’t have any friends or family in Canada - actually all my irl friends and family is in Ukraine. Only person with close relationship I have in real life is my husband and he accompanies me in Canada, MB. He doesn’t know English at all, so we both stressed: I’m busy applying for everything and he feels useless. But it will get better, I hope so at the very least. Even despite the stress and huge money loss( for the immigration process and airplane tickets which price insanely skyrocketed) it’s better than be dead in Russia or Ukraine, so…
Despite I’m educated and somehow experienced - most employers want to to have Canadian experience(or to have 5+ years of experience in Software Development lololol), so for now I’m working at a paint retail store to get such an experience. Even though I work for the lowest salary possible in Canada, it still gives me more that I earn from doing furry art. On top of that Canadian taxes for self-employed/freelance artists are 6 times higher than in Russia(~30% instead of 5% I was paying in Russia), so it feels just horrible. That’s why prices are going to change in my pricelist, I hope you can understand.
This flew also made me to leave my pets in Russia: Turkish airplanes weren’t letting me to take cats with me. This makes me so sad and desperate, only things I hope for is my husband’s family will take good care of them before I could go back and take them with us to Canada.
So yeah… I’m still planning to work on Waste of Time, Pussies and dragons and monthly pinups. Just I was busy applying for things and trying to survive

Yes, Europe is on fire now :( I'm feeling horrible for Ukraine, EU countries near it and of course countless lives affected by this war. The worst thing I can't do much about it. I try to volunteer for UA organizations here in Canada and it still doesn't feels like enought.

I'm glad you made it out of this hell. Sure, it's hard to believe if you don't have to go through all of this... I live in Germany and Ukraine is only 1.000 kilometers from here. So many people fleeing from there, many of them living in other european countries like Germany, Austria or Poland now. Sure, it's hard to believe but I hope you and your family get through all of this and this stupid war ends soon.

It may not mean much from me, as I have no idea what you've had to deal with or go through, but I respect your decision and am glad you are safe & well. It takes real bravery uprooting yourself and moving whole to another country, leaving things behind that you'd rather not, and I salute you for it. Understandable in every way, this pointless conflict has done nothing but ruin and end the lives of many. I just hope that it can end as fast as possible and that all those affected, you included obviously, can get back to living normally. Hope the best for you in your new situation.
