[ Heart of Stone AU ] Doodles #4
🕑 Added 2025-03-07 21:08:52 +0000 UTCI've doodled some of these over the past months and a couple more between yesterday and today! I thought I'd collect what I have so far 💜 this is mostly Neuvillette / Zhongli / Baizhu
I'm going to draw some more because for the upcoming arc I would like new outfits for all of them! I quite like the Baizhu outfit I doodled here but shirt and jacket are a bit too oversize for how I imagine his style so I'll try sizing them down and exploring more∼
And mayyybe different hairstyle for Zhongli? I think I still love him the most with is OG hairstyle but I'd like to see how he looks with a shorter cut like Welt or Zayne? 
He's also not bad with slicked back hair, but that's super formal (fit for a dinner out with Zhuzhu) and I'm looking for something with a casual vibe too!
These doodles are based on something I'm planning to make happen at some point of the story (nothing related to beards, that was just for fun lmao) but since I've been changing events here and there I thought I'd just let those ideas out for now!! All these were a lot of fun! 💜💜💜

There's on thing I forgot to say about the latest comic update and it's that Kaveh's gym outfit is inspired by Love Live!!'s Honoka's! I planned to make him wear her S2 training outfit (orange) but the colors didn't look good on him so I went for other options haha 
Lots of attempts were made before the final version!

I must say I don't consider myself nearly as good as I'd like to be at varying face features to make characters distinguishable, but I take pride in trying 👉👈 I don't have a specific process because so far I'm mostly just "trying faces" on them! Since the beginning of HoS, you can already see how much Zhongli has changed, for example haha For my most beloved ones I do some extra thinking though, for instance: for Zhongli he's squared because he's Lord of Geo so keywords were "rock-solid", "firm", "stable" whereas Neuvi is wise and introvert, I wanted him to have an "unreachable" aura hence the elegance and the triangular face shape (cause pointy = stay away)!

Now more serious comment. I love the faces and the their comparison with the basic shape. I was staring at it for a while and just this little detail gives so much character and makes the characters very distinguishable. It is so simple, yet something i totally ignored for a long time. Well, it even more speaks of your skill, but we already see it from accurate facial expressions. I would like to see your thinking process when you are "recreating" or creating characters in your style.

You always have so many fun little details, lookimg for them is always a joy!!! Although now I'm going to sit here wondering if Wriothesley gave Neuvillette a pocket watch to count the hours until he finds his way back to him. And Neuvillette keeps it beside his heart...oh no, now I'm sad. So I'm going to laugh over Baizhu's crocs instead 😭 Qiqi would have loved a pair of those, I'm sure. And Gui. Changsheng would have been disgusted in them all. (But I'm sure she'd love Baizhu's snake motif belt...)

I don't lie when I say I look for your username in the comments section because you always grasp something deeper in the artwork and it's super interesting to read 💜 Neuvi is indeed feeling nostalgic and longing for something -or someone- maybe it has to do with the golden chain he always brings along... For both of them, I really love the duality of formality/elegance (in the outfits) and power!

Me just staring at gentleman!Neuvi like he's so beautiful! Even when he's just standing in the rain like a drowned rat!!! (...contemplating his own lost love, perhaps????)
