As a former tuba player, I am in no way surprised that Ben played tuba.

Ben Zaretsky

How does David not know who Larry fersugon is? The guy not only wrote hunt for red October but the director whose name I’m forgetting cart him in it as chief of the boat

Austin McDougle

I have played drums my entire life, I would be a next level of patron to hear David play drums. just layin shit down on the skins

I'm kind of bummed that there aren't animal aliens. I remember those toys from growing up, and always assumed these animal variants happened in one of these movies.

I actually have a 2nd place solo and ensemble medal for playing Cowbell.

Jacob Bowman

Ben was Tuba man!! I was too, but started at the end of Middle school then did through high school. Love the Tuba Talk

Doug McArthur

For whatever reason, I never saw these films growing up, but now I've been making my way through the franchise (I just watched Resurrection last night). I gotta say, Alien 3 is my least favourite so far. It's an Alien movie that just really really doesn't want to have aliens in it. I like Fincher as a director but this was a bad fit for him.

Peter Soderberg

Alien 3 was my first movie I loved but had to defend to friends, love it still. Should mention though they did an audio drama of the Gibson script you can find on audible that’s pretty fun!

Dan Thompson

I definitely prefer the assembly cut but this thing still chirps, if not full-on honks. Also! First watch-along with a commentary track instead of just listening at work, incredibly fun :)

Brock Landreth

Listening to the intro of this episode as someone who played the tuba for a decade and went to school for it and I’m sure whether to be insulted or not

Andrew Cameron

The CGI comments have been mentioned to Todd Vaziri on Twitter, who’s pointed out the movie actually has virtually no CGI. Wherever it looks ropey, it’s likely shots using miniature rod puppets.

Gabriel Mathews

Fun fact: double Y is actually a very real thing, but does not really lead to behavioral issues or aggrrssion. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XYY_syndrome?wprov=sfti1

Start point around 18:39 by my mark

this is a bit of a sideline, but just wanted to say that i really related to griffin's story about the friend who set up the jazz track for him – told him how to listen to it – and how that enabled him to get it in a way he otherwise wouldn't have. I did a PhD in english literature and one of my supervisors was a joyce scholar. And joyce has always eluded me: I've read and admired dubliners without swooning for it – whenever I've attempted Ulysses it's been a locked box to me. But I had a seminar with that supervisor where he talked us into one scene in Ulysses, and then read from it, and the set up and the reading: I got more out of that 40 mins of Ulysses via him than I've ever got out of that book on my own. It was wonderful. And made me really think differently about the value of academia and criticism, how they can enrich the experience of art.

"This movie puts on fingerless gloves."

Jordan B. Anderson

"Nobody is really being pushed to the limit in Ghostbusters 2."

Tomas Marinara

Y'all are dead on. This is Ben aesthetics in its purest form.
