I still read this and care ❤️

I know this doesn’t matter and no one will read this but I can’t not say anything because I hear people joking about this all the time. But the Cullens don’t move every 2-4 years. The reason that they keep doing high school over is because “the younger [they] start out, the longer [they] can stay”. So like… they don’t just leave town as soon as they graduate lol Also for credibility, I just saw the movie for the first time a few days ago.

i can’t believe no one else in the comments was in grade school when the first book came out and when the first movie came out??? It was the definition of a cultural reset; no one I knew was talking about anything else

One of my best friends worked as a PA on Twilight. Neither of us had heard of the book or knew it was popular. He told me he was working on a "vampire baseball" scene, which sounded insane and incredibly stupid. I remember saying "this movie is gonna be a flop". Lol. Oh, I was so wrong.

David talking so glowingly about the setting of Twilight gives me hope for an eventual Pacific Northwest Blank Check live show
Joshua Burnett
These are the first Blank Check commentaries I've listened to while actually watching the movie. I have not regretted this choice!

It is so important for me to tell y'all and everyone that the Volvo was not a weird product insert but one of those "direct from the book" things. Bella calls Edward a "stupid shiny Volvo owner" and it's a thing in the fandom. It's beautiful. Like a vampire in the sun 😎

So...are they ever gonna put out the next one?

I think (as a teen services librarian) that Twilight is the book that launched huge teen franchises. Some think it was HP but that is also a children's book so it's different. Twilight opened the door for Hunger Games and Divergent and then: nothing else has been that big since. Maybe The Hate U Give but since that's "political" it couldn't get the same draw. Wild how quickly an oversaturated market kinda tanked any future book capturing the masses like this did.

Never expected to be incredibly excited for something related to Twilight but here we are, waiting for New Moon to drop 😬

anyone know where the avengers episode is?

RIP that bro who rage against this winning.

Sims referencing Banjo-Kazooie makes me want the video game podcast so badly

When they came out, I avoided Twilight like it was an unmasked person in an elevator at the height of the pandemic. Tbh I don't know if I would have appreciated it if I was somehow "forced" to watch it back then... I was even dumber than I am today. I'm so glad I got over myself, because Twilight was an absolute fucking delight. Great job carrying it to the top (like a spider monkey), Blankies, and thank you!

There was a time that the Twilight soundtrack images would pop up on my Spotify constantly because they were full of great indie songs.

As someone that lives in WA state it’s nice to hear David be a fan of rain and our rainforests. I love the rain, the verdant green of the western part of the state and how tress and moss are just everywhere. I lived in VA for several years and moved back to be closer to WA to be closer to my family but also to be able to visit the large forests and be wet all the time.

It's a different experience watching these when you're old enough to appreciate what a snack Charlie Swan is.

watched it for the first time last night in prep for the commentary. a lot funnier than i expected. the first half hour is practically a comedy, with the two leads trying to outdo each other at being the bigger weirdo. the rest of it isn't bad either.

Griffin dunking on Jasper is so hilarious, seems like Ben is having more fun than in Star Trek episodes

Say what you will about the first four, that fifth movie is pretty damn fun.

Hate these movies so much, these will be the only blank check I’ll never listen to - considering stopping Patreon sub, for the duration... but won’t as other content so good, but this is a waste of their talent.

Please get Olivia on the show to do commentary on one of the movies because I went to an all-girls middle school when Twilight was a phenomena was happening and there is just So Much to unpack, my god.

You're impossibly fast, and strong. Your skin is pale white and ice cold. Your eyes change color, and sometimes you speak like – like you're from a different time. You never eat or drink anything. I know what you are. Say it. Out loud. Say it. Podcast.

I had my doubts on this series, but this is great.

The most embarrassingly touristy thing that's ever happened to me in New York is when i was riding the subway to meet a friend who has lived there all her life, a showtime happened on the train, and as soon as I met her I started raving about the most amazing thing i saw and she, a subway commuter, just gave me the look of longest suffering.

I’m half way through and they’re talking about Jackson rathbone, can’t wait for “Battle scars” 🤠
Anthony Regina
Less than three minutes into this episode and the discussion of Showtime makes me pine for the things I miss and hate about NYC in equal measure.
nel
you guys failed to mention that when jackson rathbone it was in a red tartan tuxedo jacket w tails and all!

Hell yes, I've been looking forward to this, these movies are so bizarre.
Leroy Beckett
I’ve been rewatching these in advance and they’re so much weirder (not always in a good way!) than I remembered, will be a fun podcast!

Having never seen these movies, I'm excited.
