Joshua Brown

I have heard David use the term "regime" instead of "regimen" on multiple episodes in the same context every time. It's fitness REGIMEN!

Vegan Police

My boyfriend is a Tomb Raider fanatic and got me to watch both of them recently. I was impressed, they are the dumbest kind of fun and seen through that lens I find them hard to argue with.

Oscar

Weeks later this is confirmed.

Whit Barringer

Addams Family Values added a kid.

Jessica B

The Little Mermaid two adds a kid 😂

Josh

Basically, what y’all want out of this is Hellboy II

Michelle Fotopoulou

Doctor Sleep might be the only example of adding a kid in the sequel that rules

Rad Rodge

Griffin: "Bottom half is a scorpion, top half is a king, so that's pretty much 10 out of 10 perfect for me"

Rad Rodge

I checked back in on the episode about The Walk, where I forgot that David supplies an incredible defense of the Scorpion King CGI: "looks like a scorpion, clearly a king"

Elliot

Too harsh on this movie! It's fun and silly.

Jonathan Chee

First thing that came to mind was the wooden stake machine gun from Van Helsing

Ben Gilbert

Love the show so very much. Also love supporting your Patreon and I apologize in advance but please stop eating on mic.

Austin McDougle

bring back eating on mic!!!!!

Joshua Ochoa

I loved Dawn my second watch through Buffy, she gets an unnecessary bad wrap.

Adam Augustyn

Holy crap that's tremendous. Thanks for passing it along!

Andrew Spitzer

The Lost World: Jurassic Park gives Ian Malcolm a daughter, but that may not count since the first film already had kids.

Anthony Jennaway

The Mummy’s scream performed by the lead singer/guitarist for the seminal German industrial band Einstürzende Neubauten (and guitarist in Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds for many years): Blixa Bargeld.

Domenic Mezzanotte

Came here to say that I saw Mummy Returns at 13 and thought “more like Nefertitty” to myself based on passable knowledge of Egyptian history, what I thought the movie said, and a Freudian Hear for where my uhhh thoughts were. Ya goofed, Universal! I heard it anyway!

Hope

"Kid" was 26 when this movie came out, and he's supposedly a high schooler. I love the sequels to David levels, but good lord what the hell

Infinite Terror

Started singing along to the theme song without even realizing it.

Jonathan Popalis

Terminator 2 adds a kid. I would say it was ah-PRETTY successful at it.

Susannah B.

The only annoying kid they brought in later I can think of is Dawn from Buffy, and it's pretty heavily lampshaded

Philip Ehlke

This movie does turn into a screen saver but I was sure having fun. Didn’t really mind the kid. I could almost feel Sommers’ blood, sweat and tears as this story comes across a bit like a feverish fanfic. Hey, if Hollywood gives you a blank check then by all means, make sweet love to that typewriter 👻

Joshua Ochoa

The Legend of Zorro adds a kid.

Joshua Ochoa

Ya’ll are wrong about Shanghai Knights. It’s good. Now you must make those two the next commentary series!

Davey Morrison

This was my first thought, too!

Aaron Thompson

It’s basically guaranteed that Avatar 2 will add a kid.

Fraser Duncan

12:40-12:45 made for a strange and somewhat disconcerting experience on headphones for me as my name was repeated over and over again! Very grateful for the pronunciation correction though!

William Evans

Look this movie is bad HOWEVER every movie can be improved with a dirigible so it’s not a complete wash.

Sean Logue

Matrix Reloaded actually has a character called the Kid. Does he count for annoying children in sequels?

Mark Jackson-Brown

Both RoboCop 2 and 3 had cherubic audience-insert children.

Jack o Diamonds

Legend of zorro.

Christina Lohr

The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea adds Ariel and Eric’s daughter Melody who, get this, is a human who wants to be a mermaid!! Who woulda thought?

Charlie

Some arguably annoying kid-centric sequels they've covered: Thunderdome, The Lost World, T2, Crocodile Dundee in L.A. I'd say the best possible version isn't Temple of Doom, but Alien$.

Adam B

In re: sequels that add children… the only one I could think of was an older example. The Thin Man series actually adds a kid in by the second or third sequel. I couldn’t really remember any other examples but it feels like such an obvious sequel trope.

William Evans

Spider-Man 3 actually has a consistent theme as illustrated in one of the greatest video essays ever: https://youtu.be/UD0cNRsJugg

Squit

Lost it when Ben brought up “bone guns” 😂

Jordan B. Anderson

arnold vosloo leaping into frame and bellowing NOOOOO! is a moment I treasure

Wes Reynolds

Watching The Mummy last month: “As always, that movie rules. I can’t imagine ever revisiting that awful sequel.” Tonight: (Cues up Returns on HBO) “These assholes makin me watch this shit. Was Crocodile Dundee 2 not enough torture to endure? Here’s another $5 for your Patreon.”
