This American Life did a story on super bowl ads (timely!) and they had this amazing tangent where mad men imagined the pitch for Popeye. “He’s about 90 years old and he has no teeth . He’s constantly punching people and eating spinach , which enables him to punch even more people !”

For the record Rihanna’s foundation just announced $15 mil for grassroots environmental justice orgs. Not sure how much will go to oceans but I imagine she’s doing more than Popeye and angry birds contrary to the blank check family’s assumptions

Apparently S2 has sort of a bad rap. Didn’t know anything about the show until BC. I got through both seasons no problem. Didn’t really notice a dip in quality. Maybe it’s because I find Gwendoline Christie so compelling that I can ignore other faults.

So hyped for this! Love TOP OF THR LAKE. Very curious how they’ll feel about S2, because I fully believe TOP OF THE LAKE: CHINA GIRL is the best thing Campion has ever done. S1 is great. S2 is maybe one of the best seasons of tv ever?
