I think the museum Ben is referring to is the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The founder left it in her will that the original building wouldn't make any changes to the exhibits, so when paintings have been stolen the space they occupied is left empty. And it *does* have a very classy old European vibe!

Where else to go for a discussion on Mamma Mia than a Blank Check Moonraker commentary.
Spencer Kindra
Itâs fun but it really is just a remake of The Spy Who Loved Me but in space on account of Star Wars and Spy is just a remake of You Only Live Twice complete with Lewis Gilbert who directed all three movies haha.
Kerry Benton
Totally agree though I'd quibble that the Duquesne Incline is a funicular rather than a cable-car / gondola. Though it is cable-driven, it runs on tracks up the side of a cliff. There are several in PA... I remember the one in Johnstown we visited because it was famous for being very steep. We also rode the Kaprun funicular in Austria not so many years before it famously caught fire and killed over 100 people. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaprun_disaster)... which is scary. But I think they're so cool.

Seeing Michael Lonsdale really makes me want to rewatch Ronin, even though he's only in it briefly. Love it
Chris Tompkins
The actress playing Dr. Goodhead looks like a stuck-up version of Kathleen Turner.

You missed the producers 'Fuck You' to Spielberg...the access code keypad for the germ laboratory in Venice uses the musical tones from 'Close Encounters'.

TEETH ARE JUST BONES IN YOUR MOUTH

Do the Brosnans please!

Recently revisited the OG Fletch episode and was pleasantly reminded that Harland Williamsâ Rocketman was a staple of Griffâs childhood VHS collection. A bit surprised there wasnât a shout-out here but an understandable omission
Rad Rodge
Just two solid hours of Rory Kinnear chat, it's gonna be so good
Rad Rodge
Lemme tell ya, friend, I think Weir is happening next year [yeir?], I'm in the camp that reads the tea leaves in that way
Mike Ostrov
Ooh, Picnic at Hanging Rock reference. Weir is my dream series. Podcaster and Commander. Also, Venice episode for the Comfort of Strangers in the Paul Schrader series. American Podcastalo.
Brock Landreth
Griffinâs false memory of Jaws spinning his girlfriend around by her pigtails sounds just like the infamous pigtails scene from Matilda, I have to wonder if he wasnât just transplanting that into Moonraker.
Henry
At some point I will be able to watch Skyfall with you providing commentary. So so good. Please, Spaghetti Monster make it happen
Bryce Hendrickson
You know youâre doing a good commentary when the bits are so good that youâre misunderstanding huge story beats. This has been my favorite Moore ep so far. Getting me through the work day.
Jeremy Jones
these moore bonds ain't hittin

Regarding the âvertical gondolaâ talk: Ben is referring to the Duquesne Incline! Well worth a ride if you ever visit Pittsburgh, the view at the top is stunning.
Spencer Kindra
I wonder why they stopped doing that after Moonraker since the next four movies were based on Fleming short stories.
Tom Lowery
Moneybenny. That is all I hear.
Michael Hashizume
I had the same reaction watching this. I chalk it up to smoking and the lack of modern sunscreen
Spencer Kindra
I thought it was Red Dawn.
Nate Shu
I love that Griffin in his mind somehow combined Jaws and Miss Trunchbull from Matilda
Tiago Augusto Souza Barreiro
John Glen directed the next 5 Bond films, more than any other director.
Anthony Regina
I was so happy to hear Griffin and Ben react to the gondola scene organically.
Norman Normalperson
The lads randomly bursting into "Nobody Does It Better" needs to be part of the main feed. They could sing it after discussing the best bits of Kubrick films.
Rad Rodge
Awesome
Rad Rodge
Ah yeah I know about this from James Bonding hahaha, itâs the most Roger-Moore-sounding thing in the world
Dean Eaton
This is the next to last Bond that has âIan FlemingâsâŠâ before the movieâs title. The last was CASINO ROYALE.
Bing En
I'm cracking up hearing the friends talk about how old Roger Moore looks in Moonraker. We've still got 3 movies and 6 years to go!
Tiago Augusto Souza Barreiro
If youâre interested in Mooreâs workout regimen for the role, you should read the excerpt in his âThe 007 Diaries: Filming Live and Let Die,â wherein he discusses his âknees bend workout.â Itâs quite amusing.
Amy Patrick
Not to MPAA-splain but Gremlins and Temple of Doom were what jump started the PG-13 because of mad parents who went to see those movies.
Lucas Nascimento
Just wanted to let you blankies know that in Brazil, where I live, Moonraker is called "007 vs the ROCKET OF DEATH"!
Damimoon Sunbeam
I remember as a kid loving 'Moonraker', then as an adult thinking it was pretty terrible and almost a complete retread of 'The spy who loved me' & now I'm kind of loving it again, even though it's still not great. It's like comfort food, I guess.

Griff losing it to the gondola reactions makes me so happy
