MARCH MADNESS 2023 - Day 11
🕑 Added 2023-03-11 17:00:05 +0000 UTCIt was another close one yesterday, but Elmore Leonard found John Grisham in contempt of Patreon court. Chili Palmer and Ray Nicolette move on to the next round.
Up today - a real barrel of laughs.
It’s SNL Movies vs. Teen Shakespearean Comedies.

With SNL, we’d cover 8 movies:
- The Blues Brothers (1980)
- Wayne’s World (1992)
- Coneheads (1993)
- Wayne’s World 2 (1993)
- A Night at the Roxbury (1998)
- Superstar (1999)
- The Ladies Man (2000)
- MacGruber (2010)
We’ve eliminated the real stinkers from the lineup already. Sorry, we’re not doing "It’s Pat".
With Teen Shakespeare, we’d cover 3 comedies:
- 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
- Get Over It (2001)
- She’s The Man (2006)
We’ve chosen to simplify and stick to millennial teen comedies here.
So - who takes it?

Honestly, bringing in Emily to talk about Pat would be kind of fascinating. Is there *anything* redeeming about that bit? IIRC, Pat just kind of lives his/her life, and a lot of the humor comes from the squares that can't bear to just ask him/her for guidance. I've been resistant to including pronouns as part of introductions, but in an odd way, Pat is probably a situation where they would get the most bang for the buck.

Skipping the bad SNL movies is a terrible idea. The whole buzz around them has always been how weird it is that SNL became incapable after a certain point of making a successful movie. How can you really talk about that without watching the worst of them?
Wow I really thought Teen Shakespeare was gonna take it in a walk.
