I have thoroughly enjoyed how overconfident Griffin was in his remembered knowledge of all 5 of these films. So many shots called and missed. Yet you can tell he does have a deep understanding of the franchise. I loved how the damn dirty humans line ended up not actually being in any of them

Tim Burton series

Came here very late to say this. I think War isn’t as strong as Dawn, and I have issues with it, but I still think it’s very good.

I think this was already covered on the main feed?

No Burton planet? 🤞🏼🤞🏼

The cleaning up the seaweed bothered me so much! You clean trash off beaches, not naturally occurring ocean plants!

Hench has killed Hench.

It's the Oceans movies, they mention it toward the end of this episode
Kerry Benton
I *think* I heard them say the Oceans films? A little Soderbergh dip? Am I making this up? And, yes they say so at the end, and I'm amazed to discover they're gonna torture themselves with the Rat Pack original which, as they say, is utterly atrocious.

I had never seen any of these other than the first, so this has been a real fun miniseries for me. I really liked Conquest maybe almost as much as the original... the rest aren't exactly great but I'm glad to have watched them.

does anybody know what series is next?

I beg David's going to go nuts for those nets at the end

New rule: One guy has to see the movie ahead of time so they don’t assume ridiculously-incorrect plot points.

This movie rules super hard. I saw it on 35mm in an amazing theater, and the crowd was filled with bikers and metalheads going nuts the whole time. Incredible experience.

I would like to hear a commentary series on the Serkis Apes films. For one reason, I think they benefit from being watched in close- succession. The series is basically a biography of this world-changing character. Think of it as an epic like Ben-Hur or Spartacus, but with apes.

Officially worn down at the point where when David said WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES was a mistake in all ways that I said “No. it wasn’t.” firmly out loud to no one. I will never understand the slagging on that one, which is a terrific finale in maybe the only truly thoughtful and enduring of the IP obsessive 2010s. Every frame of the second and third movies rule. So hard. RISE is a fun first entry.

Dang I did think they were going to do the most recent three because they rip… hopefully these are tackled eventually !!

Paul Williams is a muppet. Convince me otherwise.

But so much happiness returns to me when the words “Riven: The Sequel to Myst” are spoken

Yet another Apes episode where I bow my head in saddened surprise that it has not begun with the Night Court theme

This is the only I haven’t seen cuz I heard it was bad. I’ve seen the others like 700 times so this is a pretty big blind spot for me lol
