It’s interesting how the show was dismissive of Fight Club’s political themes since it perfectly predicted both the ideological underpinnings and the social and cultural expressions of the modern fascist movement. It was just made in prosperous times, so it focuses on the degrading effects of consumerism.

Regarding the timing of the release, I remember my friend who was assistant manager of a cinema at the time talked about how they were showing the first trailers way in advance of the film coming out. It was unique enough that he remarked on it. Like, he stated that it seemed like it was taking forever to come out.
