Tone-Löc’s “Wild Thing” became the first platinum rap single ever in 1989. It ends with “Hasta La Vista, Baby” as a closing mic drop tag-line. That’s absolutely why it got referenced in this movie. That bit plus Eddie Furlong spending the whole movie in a Public Enemy black tee from their ‘Fear Of A Black Planet’ 1990 release were both considered major indicators of hip-hop’s growing cultural cache in the mainstream. When I saw that PE shirt in the movie in the theater it felt like a huge win for a politically charged rap group that was headlining arenas already but never played on the radio.

Evol Intent

Chris Mendoza

Tim. Lol

GameGrumps

Best. Episode. Ever.

SamFace

Yesss Joe Morton is always my "guy from Blues Brothers 2000" what a film! Fond memory of me and my younger brother being embarrassed by our dad dancing in his seat at the cinema 😆😎

Tom Lowery

What band can be categorized as “liquid metal”?

Tony Jennaway

Ben, not addressed after saying it re: snagging $300 from an ATM: “We’re getting a jumbo sized thing of glue and we are going off!” Arts and crafts projects, surely? 🥴

Harrison Stanley

Bring back Josh Ruben for more Cameron?

Javier Gonzalez

Ben doesn’t shower every day. And people wonder why we couldn’t beat COVID.

Matt

Absolutely enjoy the lunch orders because I used to live close to the office and enjoy the local references.

Larry Roachelle

I love that you have nostalgia for something I experienced. It was my junior year of high school. I saw it opening weekend with my 2 best friends. We were blown away! The story, the effects, Linda Hamilton and just all of it! No one stopped talking the rest of the night! Oh! Use of Hasta La Vista in popular culture definitely spawned from T2! I'm a "Clifford" & die hard Universal Orlando fan too. Can't wait for T2-3D!!

Anna Smith

Thank you! I was like “wait… John Conner is not at the ATM rn…”

John

GRIFFIN at no point did Ben or David *chew into the mic or talk while chewing*

ian

i don't think they know about molten steel, no

Liam Haber

“If you’re trying to sync up” they say as I align this movie to my VHS copy. Thank you BlankCheckBoys

Sonny Riverside

They know it’s Steel and not Lava, right?

Andy P

I decided to watch this with a stogie because I’m a stud. I’m ballsy.

Rad Rodge

“But you are the one who sets the speed” hahahaha

Rad Rodge

“Yeah, that’s a picture of you. Perfect high cheekbones.”

Rad Rodge

“Cameron is the king of blue” is an incredible insight, I immediately realize Griffin is right about blue solving so much for a post-apocalyptic setting

Ben Virdee-Chapman

Cool as shit watching this as an 11 yr old at a sleep over in '92. (15) certificate VHS? Yes. Yes, please. Quite possibly my desert island movie. Tied with Heat.

Joanna Patterson

More about this Cinnamon Toast Crunch martini, tho…

David Bowden

I was an adult when this came out, and I can assure you that Arnold being a good guy was thoroughly spoiled in the trailers for this movie.

David Crosier

Absolutely not. This is part of the fabric of Blank Check Special Features. Prompted me to order Five Guys!

Scott Carberry

That’s correct. Thank you dropping that in.

Hugh Jazz

Fun fact and i can't remember where i heard him say it, but robert patrick was up on a higher floor in an apartment building in LA while the rodney king riots were happening below in the streets, might have been before the film came out. the studio had given him his own t2 arcade game cabinet and he and another notable actor (who i Cant remember) were drinking and playing the arcade game while the riot happened below

fartinscorcese

Re: Patrick — I went to college with one of his daughters and she is one of the most endearing weirdos you will ever meet

Scott Carberry

As a Baltimoron, I’m really looking forward to, “T2 3D: Bad Lacrosse Time” 😀😀😀

Sonny Riverside

Guys, can we retire the lunch orders? It was cute once or twice, but this is T2! Not some boring bullshit. I want to hear you talk about the movie man!

MonoStereoVideo

Can’t wait for the T2:3D episode! Love this one, but I’ll always have a fond memory of 3D. I was 8 watching for the first time, had to pee in line, really had to pee in the pre-movie video, my family then surrounded a trash can and had me pee in the trash can while the lights were low. We waited in line a long time and we’re very determined.

Will Pottorff

Just a heads up the Terminator 2 streaming on Paramount + is the extended version. I kind of hate it. Not sure if I ever needed a Kyle Reese dream sequence or T-1000 dog murdering scene

Ben Zaretsky

David, the riots were in response to the verdict in the case not the video being released which happened soon after the assault.

Garry L

I was 17 when this came out in the UK. That opening 5 minutes was mind blowing. Combination of most expensive movie ever made and the hype of the Liquid Metal effects, the theatre was at fever pitch when the Carolco logo came on

Albert Dion

It is don't worry

Mike Ostrov

My journey with Griffin and his burger: 1. Jeez, no cheese but yes raw fast food onions? Why?! 2. Oh, sorry, that was insensitive about cheese-exacerbated stomach issues. 3. Jeez, don't leave a burger sitting for 45 minutes on my account!

Ben Schultz

I feel the need to submit a correction: Griffin said that “cops were being mowed down,” BUT Arnie did not hit a single cop with the minigun! Cop cars, yes. But none of the cops appear to be injured in that scene. The Terminator was complying with his directive and he/it deserves credit for that.

Kevin Fennell

My dvd’s theatrical cut is only available in dvd-rom.

Tim of The East

Seems worth noting the movie starts at 5:25 not 5:05

David Brown

Cameron being a blue lives matter guy is a joke, right? I don't want to look it up and despair

Tony Jennaway

The bar in the scene in the beginning was right by where the assault took place on Lakeview Terrace. Our saying in L.A. was: To serve and protect and to break a brother’s neck.

Chris Dobson

You guys are mad lads, ordering 3 separate sides of fries from 5 Guys? They're literally going to give you multiple bags full of fries!

Jordan Gibson

Everything kid Ben would do with a cool robot prt 1

Ruairi Carroll

My dad worked abroad in the 90s and brought home a sketchy VHS pirate of this. I basically ran screenings in a school lecture theatre on a 21 inch TV. I was a fucking HERO for about 2 weeks

Patrick McHugh

Rowans! It’s still here!

Ben Zaretsky

The Rodney King assault took place on March 3, 1991 T2 opened on July 3 1991 As a kid I remember seeing the T-1000 get out of that “to protect and to serve” La police cruiser and thinking about the assault video and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one

Jordan B. Anderson

what a masterpiece

Karah S & Ralph U

Not widely available outside of the US. Couldn't get the theatrical cut anywhere in New Zealand 😥

Ray

Alright alright let's not get two judgemental

Jestin

Listened to this just as you intended: with the 1992 Live Home Video "Terminator Collection" VHS double tape set tape

Nathan Stack

theatrical cut > extended cut don't even @ me

Joon Kim

I think I’m gonna throw up

Tom

Time to cry

John Hardwick

Hoz-ta BenVista, babe-ly.

Dani Hatch

I’ve been so excited for this episode, can’t wait

Former Janitor

You must be made of mimetic polyalloy if you think I'm listening to this
