OG McDuck

Ok, i promise to be more active here and pay attn (or is that a threat rather than a promise?). Anyhoo, I'm going to vote AND look at what I'm voting for. I didn't look here. I thought it was the TV show. Of course it wasn't, but for some reason that was what was in my head: that somehow they'd do the tv show. It never occurred to me that they meant to do the awful tng movies. And in that case, I'd rather have the Robin Hoods. Much more interesting movies, and much better movies. After Mr Plinkett rightfully tore the tng movies a new hole, i never need to hear anyone talk about them again.

OG McDuck

I never vote. I let this happen. I'm a bad person.

KB Cordy

I’d love to hear about the 1938 Robin Hood. The Fox one (much) less so, but that’s the trade-off I suppose.

Daniel S

It irrationally bothered me that the Scott Robin Hood turned king Philip Augustus into the bad buy when in reality he and, more importantly his son Louis the Lion, actively supported the barons who rebelled against King John. I think it would have been bolder to show Robin supporting the invasion of England in order to protect the rights of English men but instead it subsumed actual medieval politics into modern nationalistic framing which dumbed down the movie. The Anderson Three Musketeers of 2011 does the same thing by making the Duke of Buckingham the main villain even though a central point of the book is that he is an enemy of France but an ally of the Musketeers which is used to emphasize the dying of the old world of interpersonal loyalty and patronage to the apparatus of state conflicts and the dying of the romantic ideal of swashbuckler era

Liz Norris

That's the second-best moment. The best is when Robin Hood receives a scroll, and on it is written "Draft Notice" in medieval-looking font. Amazing.

Jay Kay

They’re both good but while all 4 treks are conversation worthy I feel like a few of the robinhoods will be boring. I weirdly like any Scott history epic but it’s one of his most inert

Alex Lovendahl

adventures of robin hood is one of the greatest films of all time and two of the others star russell crowe and kevin costner. they'll be fine.

Tyler Duggan

Guys, 1 Hot Fox Movie ≠ stellar conversations about a horny crew of space explorers! Remember, there’s *the other* Robin Hood movies… and the boys are gonna be dragging through ‘em.

Chris R

I believe they have said they are gonna do TNG movies one day so I gotta go with the Hot Fox since we might not get that chance anytime soon.

Crispy

Really tough call, I so want to hear The Two Friends talk First Contact in particular, but the arc of the Robin Hood films is too good to pass up (even if it means listening to the American pronunciation of Robin Hood constantly for weeks)

Jon Williams

Why is this the hardest one so far

Marty TC (child-sized Cardassian)

They could talk about have they noticed their boobs have gotten firmer lately? Not that we care about such things at our age...

Marty TC (child-sized Cardassian)

Captain, I protest! I am NOT a merry man!!

Hygge State

Luck be Star Trek tonight.

CT

Damn, what an intelligent, well-argued, thought out point!

Perry

I grew up with TNG, hope it can get a tight win.

Kenny Madison

I love how close these results are. Trek please!

andy

I need Ben’s thoughts on the Borg

Brandon Skidmore

Nah man I’m definitely a nerd too. Just not a Trekkie. Just trying to have some fun sports trash talk

CT

You’re voting on the Patreon of a niche movie podcast in favor a furry movie against a Star Trek series…and you think you’re somehow above the label of nerd?

Jeffy

C’mon TNG!

Joe Pontillo

Patreon extra

Brett Etzel

Hot Fox, great music, beautiful classic hand-drawn animation Classic Swashbuckler Best Score of all time, Alan Rickman in an ocean of ham Russell Crowe loves this movie, don’t you wanna be like Russell Crowe?? … uh…. The costumes are… expensive looking? 🤔

Jake monk

Disney hot fox is really putting his paw on the scales

Jake Yosafat

Do it for Hot Fox 🦊!

Tyler Duggan

Tim Allen miniseries for BCSF

John

I can’t imagine thinking ROBIN HOOD is cooler than STAR TREK wtf

Betty Vaughan Granberg

Hot fox please

RFS

I want them booooth

Matt

I love TNG. But how much would there really be left to talk about by the third mediocre movie?

Ryan

Anything is better than more star shit

Reuben

Take the next journey! Choose Star Trek!

MoCoSwede

The TNG movies should include Galaxy Quest! It’s great, and I can’t imagine it being covered elsewhere on the podcast; also, it makes the even/odd Star Trek movie quality rule hold true.

Evelyn Chavanne

Anything but Trek!

Jesse Bacon

If Robin Hood wins, can we still get that TNG episode as part of it?

Tyler Duggan

TREK.👏 TREK. 👏TREK. 👏TREK. 👏TREK. 👏TREK.👏

DM

HOT FOX

Chris Radicone

Notting my lifetime...either way we all win with the two best friends.

HappyCroc

Cmon Trekkies, you already got a series. The pod has been to space, but has it been to Nottingham?

Gerry Canavan

Devastating! Second year in a row!

Chris Radicone

Anyone else read "Hot Fox" like "Hot Cops" from Arrested Development?

sheabobay

YES THANK U! 🏆

Brandon Skidmore

Let’s go Robin Hood let’s steal this win from the nerds

Janine Liberty

AND Malcom McDowell, of Clockwork Orange fame! Having weirdly intense interactions with Whoopie Goldberg! The best.

Ancient alien

This one tough, hmmmm idk l guess Robin Hood since we did 1 series Star Trek already

Max

I feel a little hypocritical cause I was super mad at all the people voting for PKD last year just for blade runner, but HOT FOX ALL THE WAY!

Ryan Baker

Once again, NO MEN IN TIGHTS, NO DICE!

Patrizia Man

STAR TREK TNG MAKE IT SO

Big Guy

Again, TNG is not new blood, plus we already have 7 Trek episodes. HOT FOX! Let’s do this friends!

Joe Arvis

Just watched Hot Fox Robin Hood over the weekend and it's great but I absolutely need several hours of David talking about TNG

David Bishop

Obviously TNG. They’ve done the TOS movies. It’s only logical.

Manish Agarwal

I recently listened to Patrick Stewart's autobiography, which is one of the all-time great "read by the author" audiobooks! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/100701424-making-it-so

Patrick McEvoy

I'd be even more interested in Robin Hood if it included the excellent Sean Connery/Audrey Hepburn/Robert Shaw "Robin and Marion" - directed by Richard Lester and written by James Goldman, no less. Not sure why that one isn't included. But, oh well, can't have a perfect world I guess! ;)

Bern Roche Farrelly

I am a MASSIVE Trek fan but the TNG movies do not hold up - Vote Green, Vote R. Hood

Mason Diab

Hot fox hot fox HOT FOX

FiddlersGreenDay

Wow, neck and neck

Nathan

Engage

youngthugisthegreatestlivingrapper

I'm not voting for Star Trek because I'd have to watch all of TOS, original movies, and TNG before I could watch the TNG movies

heather

Raabenud has only ever been good as a TV series and at least with TNG you get to watch a planet explode.

Andrew Morgan

don't really give a fig about about Disney Hood, but i'm happy to watch it. the 1938 film is a masterpiece. TNG is like watching paint dry.

Stephen Blakley

There is a bat shit movie with Patrick Stewart and William Shatner in it. Are we really going to let that slip through our fingers??

MoCoSwede

I’m going to keep the flag flying for including Robin & Marian in a Robin Hood series!

Josh Harvey

Either way we win

John Dog

Star Trek, surely - there's just not enough Trek comment and analysis on the internet.

Doug Robertson

Tight tights

Matthew Chmiel

I really don’t want Robin Hood, but here’s the 🖕🏻 to those who voted Star Trek last round against Body Snatchers.

Mark McBride

saving it for mel brooks

Adam Matzner

No men in tights?

Kathryn Clark

Hot fox! Hot fox! Hot fox! 🦊

Isaac Adams

NGL I'd be happy with either but TNG >>>

Evan Williams

I also think the TNG movies are more likely to be picked up on their own without the help of MM.

Charlie Wetherington

I'm the biggest TNG fan in the world, but the TNG movies are so mid-to-bad that they make me sad.

Zef Wagner

I understand the level of Star Trek love out there, but come on, it would be way more interesting to hear Blank Check commentaries on a ragtag bunch of wildly different (in terms of overall take as well as quality) Robin Hood movies, than to hear them talk about one good ST:TNG movie and three "meh" ones.

pacoismynickname

Nothing's stopping anyone from listening to those commentaries. If anyone really wanted to, they would.

JB

Honestly don’t want either of these to win and don’t think they will but at least the Robin Hoods give a different group of actors to talk about each time

pacoismynickname

The first Star Trek batch of episodes was enough boring to last a lifetime. Don't bring that upon the rest of us.

Will Redmond

I think my favorite moment in the Egerton Robin Hood is when Ben Mendelsohn talks about using Robin to court "the youth vote" in medieval England

sheabobay

Im choosing robin hoods cause theyll def be doing TNG someday no matter what! Chaos!

Geraint Thomas

Just a reminder to everyone that Insurrection has the best directors commentary of all time. Vote TNG if you want an excuse to listen to Jonathan Frakes wrangle an increasingly tipsy Marina Sirtis.

Chris Radicone

The ONLY good Robin Hood movie is the animated Disney version. The Prince of Thieves is ok, and the rest are hot trash, although the bits for Guy Ritchies Robin Hood could be fun. Regardless, TNG for life!

Zack Stoudemayer

The Errol Flynn Adventures of Robin Hood is one of the best movies ever made!

James Asmus

seems like the Key & Peele version of Andre 3000

Patrick

Robin Hood over TNG ? What the hell’s wrong with y’all?

Abe Something

North Brooklyn transplant, just back from a Berlin trip.

Jon Auerbach

The line must be drawn here! This far, no further!

Frog Dimples (Jesse)

Yall seriously can't let Robin Hood beat Star Trek. I know it'll prob get trounced later in the bracket, but you seriously can't let a bunch of mediocre Robin Hood movies beat Star Trek. 😩

Abe Something

Have you tried searching for podcasts from the 12th century?

Matt Skoufalos

Y'all keep saying Hot Fox like Marian isn't also the subject of that conversation

Ben Weiner

Robin Hood 2018 hive rise up

Kyle Stephens

COME ON TNG!!!

Zak Goldberger

Voting Robin Hood either way but I really think you guys should add Robin & Marian and (okay I get saving this for Mel Brooks but) Men in Tights

Janine Liberty

We all love hot fox but the other Robin Hoods are such nothingburgers! Star Trek all the waaaaayyy

Del Lorenson

Blankies ...make it so.

theintention

Data looks like hes about to drop the hottest mixtape the abbey has ever seen

Tobey

Maybe not Robin Hood (those last two are rough), but I do think it would be cool if one of the Thematic miniseries won March Madness. PKD came so close last year.

Jason Feffer

Hot Fox! Hot Fox! Hot Fox!

Terry Ballard

Bah da de da de d dodo be da de da do

Anthony Oleszkiewicz

The original Star Trek commentaries are some of my favorites with the Ben bits and Griffins intro to the franchise. Definitely TNG!

Sean McP

If only you would do the STNG episode where they do Robin Hood. :)

Anthony Pierre Coco

Yea, I honestly don't really have any interest in watching FIVE different takes on Robin Hood...

J Em

David's a Trekkie, it's definitely happening sooner or later

fischurr

If Robin Hood wins I hope they don't entirely jettison the warp core on the TNG films, I just want to hear them talk about that hot fox.

Blake R.

sorry but I just feel like Star Trek has been discussed endlessly whereas you never hear a dedicated Robin Hood podcast these days

J. Bailey Burcham

Honestly thought this was an easy win for TNG. Damn.

Amy Plitt

Hot fox fiends let’s not lose momentum

Esteban Minero

I am not a merry man looking at how this poll is shaking out so far

Thomas Rude

If Robin Hood wins, can you do a bonus episode where you discuss the Robin Hood/Q episode of TNG in the thumbnail!!

ed wine supernova

I have allegences to neither and I am surprised as well.

Patrick Mike

For any fellow Weekly Wackididoos, I’ll vote for a sexy fox.

Mike Brogan

I see Trek, I vote Trek.

Andrew Morgan

in like Flynn

Evan

Robin Hood is just more unique than another Star Trek podcast series. Gimme that Hood!

Riley Routh

I just hate the Egerton movie so much that I need a commentary on it. I am suitably ashamed, but that's my vote

Chandler Wahrmund

If you do tng, you should get Mike Carlson for one of the episodes!

Shane Ogle

Not gonna lie, I'm a little surprised Robin Hood is winning this currently. I really want the guys to cover the TNG movies one day

Adam King

I don't think my father, the inventor of having a crush on Christina Ricci, would be too pleased with yesterday's results.

JS

If Robin Hood wins, if they threw in "Qpid" as a lil' treat, I wouldn't be mad

Berkreviews.com

But the bad Robin Hood movies are bad...

dorium

The Best thing about Star Trek is its better than anything from Robin Hood so vote wisely.

Gavin W.A.

Let’s get the rest of the Trek films done! #FinishTheTrek

Despairing Radical

As an unreformed Trekkie, I can't vote against Picard.

Michael Curley

I would be excited about both of these. It’s a really tough choice. But I think Robin Hood is the more fun miniseries.

Samuel Rooke

There are so many matchups this year where I’ll be happy no matter who wins. Sort of an inverse avp situation

Holden Martinson

Right now, Robin Hood is ahead. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Jacob

Robin Hood will be fun
