Some of their best episodes have been bad movies. A MASTER BUILDER, for example, is in my top top top Blank Check eps. But five Ernest movies seems bonkers. It'd be a super sized version of Crocodile Dundee, where the first episode was fun, but then everything else was repetitive and just kind of depressing. It was the Feel Bad miniseries of the season. (Of course, I've never seen Equalizer 2 and 3, so maybe those are like Crocodile Dundee 2 and 3 but with Denzel as the lead instead of 170 pounds of old shoe leather in man form.)

I’ve never seen a film from either, but I have seen Man on Fire and Taken, so I’ve basically seen all the Equalizer movies. On the other hand, Ernest reads as pure chaos. Why watch 3 identical movies where Denzel shoots up people vs a whole series of random events?? He goes to jail and camp and saves Christmas and gets scared stupid! That really sounds less interesting than Denzel gunning down people for 3 movies straight??

Ill bite as ernest might legitimately be my number one (granted im bringing a lot of nostalgia to the mix) but Jim Varney i think is just a really unique and delightful performer. The movies are silly and goofy and slapsticky but at least from my memory they’re just total positive vibes, like zucker brothers movies for kids based around a main performance by a guy who just nails it. I also think its one of those cases where every entry is better than it needs to be or has any right to be. And ALSO i imagine the series itself will be fun, silly and chaotic which is a bonus for me personally. Equalizer movies are really strong action movies, but i dont think the discussion would be all that much fun, the movies are badass but pretty dour. I know ernest probably won’t win this one and almost definitely won’t win it all but id at least love to see him win this round. Do people really want the equalizer?? I feel like the patreon MM series has the opportunity to get wild, equalizer has a strong chance to get covered anyways
