Compared to the recent X-Men comics where the Enigma Dominion manipulates the self-annihilating timelines of Mr. Sinister's Moira Engines from beyond spacetime, I found the time travel of this film to be pretty straightforward!

Love how you guys just completely stopped paying attention to the movie, because I had the exact same experience trying to watch it. It is somehow anti-interesting. Impossible to keep your eyes on the screen or follow the plot. I really didn't think it would be worse than Salvation, but they somehow managed it.

Truly, whenever I think about this movie I think about Lee Byung-hun in the Magnificent Seven remake and I just wish that movie was a lot better cause its cast is so good haha, sure it has Pratt but that’s such a compelling cast, Fuqua can really put together a crew. And then the movie was a gentleman’s 5 and a quarter and didn’t play the music till the end credits

This movie has one idea, that John, Sarah, and Kyle are trapped in a loop and have essentially locked Skynet and humanity in the moment they sent Kyle back in time. They send a terminator, we stop it. They do it again, we stop it again. The third one is the only one with the integrity to follow this to it's logical conclusion. All these sequels are Skynet's hail mary to win but it's ultimately useless because the first one happened. Which is the perfect metaphor why to never make a sequel to first Terminator.

I think you could’ve fixed the Terminator Franchise with a sequel to T2 drawing from last year’s THE CREATOR. Here’s the pitch: T3: Rapture It’s the future, and humanity has prevented Judgement Day. The wider public has little information about what really happened, but stories spread and the governments of the world banned all AI. Religious cults form around John Connor and, in opposition to the AI ban, Miles Dyson. Both cults get a lot wrong about what happened. The JC cult thinks Connor died to stop the Terminators, for example. The Dyson cult believes the AI ban is wrong and they secretly make sentient machines. The film follows one of those machines, making them the one being chased and the humans the aggressors. One of those hunters has a change of heart and becomes their protector. Together, they run down rumors of a “rapture”, a giant satellite where the AI can live free from humans. (Call it a sky net, I don’t know, what do you want?) The film culminates with the two finding the still-alive Connor with a T-1000 he salvaged. They live together in exile, having concluded that humans and robots will always try to destroy each other. The two new characters give Connor and the T-1000 hope, but they squabble. We learn that the satellite, the “rapture”, only uploads the AI’s programming to hold them in stasis hidden in a forgotten piece of floating hardware. In the final attack, the two main characters are both injured. Connor and the T-1000 manage to save them by merging their parts. The AI uploads to the satellite to deliver a message to the other AI that reconciliation is possible, and the human ventures out into the world to preach a new gospel about the communion of man and machine.
