John Machala

Robert de Niro playing a cartoonish Russian spy... Do you need more than that?!?

Liam Boyle

Woof. I suppose the bright side is that Jay Ward is almost an inevitability.

Evelyn Chavanne

I just started watching Blackadder, so go Curtis I guess!

Bairbre

Those lunch orders really transport me to New York 😍

Nick Gerber

We already covered Yesterday (aka the movie that brought the end of days) so we really should cover the rest of Richard Curtis's cursed films!

Holly Catlin-Meyer

Respectfully disagree, but always great to see more women and LGBTQ+ individuals enjoy this podcast as well. ☺️ I always recommend this show to my friends. 💙

Rad Rodge

DOMH - NALL GLEE - SON💥 💥 💥💥💥

Charlotte Langdon

Rom com, rom com, rom com!!!

Will McLaren

More comforting than NOSTALGIA FOR CARTOONS?!

Will McLaren

Fuck all those rom coms. George of the Jungle says everything there is to say about human relationships.

Betty Vaughan Granberg

George doesn’t deserve this

Amanda's Picture Show A Go Go

Richard Curtis is a win for love.

Lukas Ridge

About Time will be a great episode, even if I have to listen to a bunch of over-heated reactions to Love Actually.

zack albun

It's gotta be Bullwinkle

Michael Curley

What are people’s Finals predictions? I’m predicting Tabletop Games vs Happy Madison. And if that’s right, I have NO idea who wins. You?

Zwoozy

Gosh, that does sound fun

Don Knott Steiner

This is fucking insane.

CT13

I'll go with an Ernest write in vote for this match up.

Kyle Martinak

I'd much rather discuss the Rise of Brendan Fraser and the fall of De Niro than listen to a Notting Hill episode, honestly.

Zak Marrinan

None of the Richard Curtis films have aged well that will be the theme. Jay Ward films have crazy trivia

Patrick Mike

and now for a matchup you'll really enjoy

R. Grossman

Jay Ward will be way more fun!!! We're not voting on which movies are better, we're voting on what we want to listen to podcasts about!!! Come onnn!!

Chad Perry

I keep having the same conflict in every Curtis vote.

Mitch Thompson

I agree, Curtis would be incredibly cozy and comforting!

Bairbre

A vote for Rocky and Bullwinkle is a vote for my childhood.

Matt Greenberg

Curtis 🥱

Literaltruth

I hope that if the Richard Curtis movies win they make sure to get some British guests on so that it's not just three guys who have always lived in the USA talking about London, a place none of them have ever been to.

Emily Scott

I don't know why I keep voting for my beloved Richard Curtis movies when it will only hurt me to hear David unload on Love Actually

Jake Yosafat

The Dudley Do-Right POD would be so fantastically, marvelously BUGNUTS. I’ll take that over hemming and hawing about how well some of the Curtis material has aged (or not)

Austin McDougle

cannot express how disappointed I am that Edgar Wright of all people is beating Holofcener rn. Do your due diligence and vote people!

Bill

Y'all have no taste. No taste I say!

Ryan Baker

I don't want either of these to be inflicted on us.

Anthony Pierre Coco

This was also when some of realized we liked George AND Jane (or whatever Leslie Mann was called)

Anthony Pierre Coco

I have strong feelings for Richard Curtis, just none of them are for his movie work. Vicar of Dibley friggin rules, though

Jennifer Levine

I can't wait for David's ire towards Love Actually and to hear the guys talk about how much of a guarantor FWAAF is.

Holden Martinson

Going with Jay Ward. I have zero strong feelings on Richard Curits. I'm just not into the idea of people dismantling his weird movies. And even the possibility of a contentious Notting Hill episode (a movie I haven't seen) does not appeal to me at all.

Sean McP

About time is great. Yay for Richard Curtis.

Jeff Brax

Me too!

Nikki Lev

If either of these wins I will be very sad

Roxanne Harvey

I’ve heard enough takes on Love, Actually that I’m actually full up until the end of my life thank you. Ward!

Eric

this comment convinced me to vote for jay ward

Elliot Cowan

I don’t think I’ve seen it since 1991 but I love, love, loved it at the time.

Will Redmond

Tall Guy is so good and also very hard to see!!

Matthew Wilson

Rage, rage against the dying of the Dudley Do-Right.

Reuben Lewis

The image for this match up is beautiful

Andrew Pillitteri

voted for george (of jungle) and instantly envisioned david shitting on my most beloved childhood movie. pick the other one idc

Erin

There's dozens of us! Or at least a single dozen!

heather

Vote for "He's Packing His Trunk"

Anna Z

Curtis deserves main feed!

Elliot Cowan

Only voting Curtis because of the magnificent and underseen The Tall Guy.

Maureen Tango

I’m here and I agree!

Matt

When I worked as a snow sports instructor that movie was always on in the room for some reason. I’ve probably seen it start to finish only twice but have a good 100 hours viewing time on it as a whole.

zero

Your comment is when it clicked that this mini-series would be looking at About Time, not In Time. Which did strike me as odd when it came up in the first round.

Jake

George of Jungle please. I refuse to ever watch love actually again

gabbi

let's GOOOO vote dicky c!!!

Manish Agarwal

“Local filmmaker Ishmahil Blagrove even accused Michell and Curtis of purposefully editing out the diverse array of local extras he’d gathered for the film. Notting Hill put the London district on the map in a global way, creating a major tourist industry centered around the movie. But it also painted a limited portrait of the area and drastically sped up the process of gentrification.” - https://www.avclub.com/notting-hill-brought-two-rom-com-titans-together-1842910191

Ryan Jenkins

The Jaw Ward commentaries would be nothing but talking about their lunch orders

Daniel Jacobs

I'd truly enjoy both, but I wish that if Curtis wins that Four Weddings and a Funeral is removed(sub something in?). A Mike Newell mini-series would be a crazy 4 movie run that starts with a forgotten kids horse adventure, before Four Weddings and a Funeral, Donnie Brasco, and Harry Potter 4(Goblet of Fire).

Chris

The Jay Ward movies being listed out of chronological order throughout this thing has really driven me up a wall.

Michele

George, George, George of the Jungle, friend to you and me!

Manish Agarwal

Emily explained: “A lot of people were saying that the film is completely whitewashed, and that it doesn’t show any of the ethnic diversity that the locals of Notting Hill are so proud of. “Almost everyone said they consider Notting Hill to be a diverse area, which combats the presentation of the film with all-white main characters and pretty much all white peripheral characters. “It romanticizes Notting Hill, quite vastly, and gives a very sanitized image of a spotless area when in real life it is not by any means.” - https://www.swlondoner.co.uk/life/26022021-notting-hill-residents-believe-the-hugh-grant-classic-fails-to-capture-west-londons-diversity

Janine Liberty

Based on the 3-minute Love Actually speed-review session during the March Madness update, that would really be an all-time great episode. Also would very much enjoy Ben's take on "Is it raining? I hadn't noticed." Wet but still bad?

Manish Agarwal

"Only Curtis could write a movie about Notting Hill, London's most diverse borough, and not feature a single black face in it." - https://www.theguardian.com/film/2009/mar/22/richard-curtis-the-boat-that-rocked

Matt Reifschneider

Vote Jay Ward. Make the entire crew try and do George of the Jungle yells. Also, the Rocky & Bullwinkle commentary would be unhinged.

Jackson Clark

About Time is great, Love Actually would be a hilarious ep

David McCallum

The Jay ward films should also include the movie Boris and Natasha from the early 90s. I think it was a tv movie but I watched it a lot as a kid. It’s got a stacked cast

Riley M

You crack me up sometimes too, Marie

Danie Jensen

not a girlie but can confirm for the gays.

Rita Jefferson

This was my hardest choice so far 🥲 no I'm not normal 🥲

Jon Ryves

vote Love Actually to cause the two friends to have a literal on-mike breakdown

Erin

The Notting Hill rant will be similarly excellent

Michael Palmer

Richard Curtis is the only way to go here folks

Michael Hollenbeck

I feel like romcoms are consistently great episodes whether the movie is good or terrible

Erin

Here for me and the other 10 girlies in the Patreon, as I assume we all had the same sexual awakening to George of the Jungle

Terry Ballard

Can't believe I might vote against a Piper Perabo vehicle...

Pete

I think About Time is a genuinely great movie. Awesome stuff.

Tyler Goodison

Voting for About Time

Bryce Dixon

I need that Love Actually episode, don't take this from me

The Real Stevie Lew

How the hell did this even happen ? I think I may just sit this one out , because i can’t tell my ass from my elbow here

Joe Leija

VOTE TO GET DAVID TO TALK ABOUT LOVE ACTUALLY FOR 2 HOURS

Luke Crawford

I'm voting mostly for Ben, and sometimes for Griffin, but today I vote for David and cast my ballot for Richard Curtis

Hogan

The Richard Curtis movies have rom com classics, huge movie star talk, and the sure to be epic Love Actually episode! Do right and Rocky will just be a lot of WHATS HAPPENING?! (Which is still fun don’t get me wrong)

Michael

JAY WARD ALL DAY EVERY DAY

Wyatt Gray

I've got JUNGLE FEVER so I'm voting JAY WARD.

Oliver Schulze

RICHAAAAAAAAARD CUUURRRRTTTTISSSSSS

Jack R

voting George of the Jungle

Perry

It's hard to choose between these incredibly compelling options.

Zoe Smith

Richard Curtis please!!! Although they’re not doing the best one (The Boat That Rocked) so like choose that other guy I guess

Joe Brady

If you don’t want a Rocky & Bullwinkle commentary I’m not sure what you’re doing here

Kevin Love Hewitt

The Ward ones would make for better commentaries on average and there’s fewer of them!

Keira Q

Jay Ward mini series is more interesting but I REALLY want to hear David tear into Love Actually

Blake Anderson

Guys. We need British actor gossip from the 90s, not more sad flops

Ross Kroeber

Do right, Do-Right! Vote Ward!

Alex Lovendahl

i don't understand the appeal of the curtis movies at all, but maybe it's because i've only seen the dreadful last two rather than the prior three.

Martín Peréz

Is “The Tall guy” the prequel to “The Fall Guy”?
