The one element of the Tabletop Games love that I've never gotten at all is people wanting a Battleship episode. That movie isn't really interesting. Clue, I get. Either D&D movie, I get. Even Ouija. But a boring cross between Pearl Harbor and Halo...do not get.

Saying so ain't gonna change anything, but I suspect Tabletop Games is skating by almost *entirely* on the (admittedly exciting) promise of a Clue episode. It would still be a fun time, and I'm not mad about it, but Pulp Heroes would make for a much more interesting overall miniseries, IMO.

Wow. The people have spoken! Look, I was hoping for Pulp. Still, I think I’m going to totally enjoy Tabletop. Maybe G&D will still do Pulp down the road. It’ll make a great series and they know it. My theory — pulp heroes was born of the success of Burton’s Batman (which was kind of 1930s-ish) mixed with the success of Lucas’s retro stylings of Star Wars and particularly Indiana Jones. Studios somehow thought the 1930s-ness was integral to the appeal of those hit movies. That’s the miscalculation that gave us this strange run of films.

These were my top 2 choices, but 90s Pulp Heroes is the weirdest cinema phenomenon of my lifetime and would totally be overlooked otherwise. besides, Treat Williams in the Phantom is having the most fun of anyone ever and no one ever understood the assignment more than he did. Plus Billy Zane in a full purple unitard and young undiscovered Catherine Zeta Jones. And that's just one of the fantastic offerings.
