BC MARCH MADNESS 2025 - Day 10
🕑 Added 2025-03-10 18:00:09 +0000 UTCBe Cool? More like, "it would be cool if we covered Elmore Leonard adaptations on Patreon!" Get Shorty et al moves on to the next round!
Up today:
Four weddings. Three colors.
It's Richard Curtis Rom-Coms vs the Three Colors trilogy.

With Richard Curtis rom-coms, we'd cover five very British films:
The Tall Guy
Four Weddings & A Funeral
Notting Hill
Love Actually
About Time
With the Three Colors trilogy, we'd cover the three films directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski:
Three Colors: Blue
Three Colors: White
Three Colors: Red
So - who's it gonna be...London or Paris??
Comments
Jason Perry
We blew it on this one. Big time.
Adam Martin
What if there was a tall guy?
Jules
I believe David at least has said he doesn't like it (correct and proper opinion, imo).
Keith Allison
I'm not quite sure what about the Three Colors trilogy lends itself to being a particularly eventful commentary series, but Three Colors: Red is one of my favorite movies of all time, so it's kind of impossible for me to vote against it.
Misadventureland
Three Colors is too real for a commentary series
Sam Schrader
😔 maybe next time, krzysztof.
Matt Navey
Blockbuster rental vs. criterion channel subscription
Allison Hughes
I said the last year and I’ll say it again, I need a Phantom Podcast-style season wherein each episode they pick apart one of the insane plots from Love Actually
Calahan Riley
Bring Zach Cherry on and record a Yesterday episode if Curtis wins please!
Nicholas
Having to pick between “what?“ and “huh?” - I’m sitting this one out folks
Literaltruth
I'm really not interested in listening to commentaries about a bunch of classic British romcoms from a pair of guys who've never even been to England and have always lived in New York.
Fiona
I’m sure it will make for a fun commentary!
Liz Marafino Fiola
My husband will not stop trying to get me to watch About Time, so I didn't really have a choice.
Abe Something
I find Love Actually to be abhorrent. Not sure if that means vote for it or against it?
Will Redmond
The Tall Guy rules!!
Martin Schneider
I want to see the Richard Curtis treatment of the three colors as well as several Hugh Grant movies directed by Kieslowski
John Toerner
Do Ernest you cowards!
Noah Mittman
TROIS! DOUZE! MERDE!
lil rob
That would be amazing. Heaven with Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi and L’enfer with Guillaume Canet could be Special Features.
Jamie
Vive le tricolor ! Bleu Blanc Rouge ou rien !
Bairbre
Notting Hill, a.k.a. Richard Curtis' One Color - White.
ChewyWalrus
UNE! DEUX! TROIS!
Manish Agarwal
"Ishmahil Blagrove, who was involved in arranging the location shooting and casting extras for the film, has said that they deliberately involved residents in the production, such as hiring them for security, and compensating shop owners for the disruption to their businesses. He cast a diverse range of neighbourhood people – including a locally famous personality – as extras, but was shocked and disturbed that people of color were almost entirely absent from the final film." Tashmon Dimps
I am… incredibly out of my depth with this one
KevynOnVideo
I try not to make my series picks based on the merits of one movie. But for Love, Actually I will make an exception (and vote for Three Colors).
Kevin Gesme
Come on three colors!!
Joel Cunningham
Three Colors would be done a disservice via commentary track coverage, I think. I like the looser, sillier bonus content.
Jake Jarvi
Look, I know everyone hates it now, but Love Actually is great. It’s great and I love it.
Cory Donohue
Richard Curtis stinks. Three colors.
Ryan Nilsen
Y'all, Three Colors deserves this
Ryan Nilsen
PLEASE VOTE THREE COLORS
Anthony Garrett
You should do all of Kieslowski, including Dekalog! 💙🤍♥️
John W
If Curtis is the winner, you just smoked every opening Griffin or David could think of 😂
Erich Van Dussen
"The Tall Guy" has always deserved more love. Emma Thompson's screen debut!
Holden Martinson
I like Richard Curtis fine, but I actually would love for a commentary series like Three Colors, where they're watching three art house films and engaging with them at least semi-seriously. They've covered good movies and movies they've loved, but this would be something new to try out.
John W
I love Three Colors. Think they're the better films by far. But for the kinds of commentary you guys do? Nah. You can have fun with the Curtis rom-coms.
Bobby Styles
Boooooo
Kevin Love Hewitt
😑
Geraint Thomas
I think this might be the first time I'm voting for the leading candidate this march
Charles
I’m just a patron, standing in front of a podcast, asking it to cover Curtis
Tomas Marinara
Hope that one YouTube upload of The Tall Guy is still up by the time we can watch if Curtis wins. Literally the only way to watch that movie!
Anthony Pierre Coco
Three Colors is a masterpiece (well, I don't LOVE White, but still), but its not really the type of thing that would work for the commentary format
Patrick LeJeune
As much fun as David shitting all over Notting Hill sounds, gotta go Colors
Begemott
Voting Richard Curtis just for the madness of the Love Actually episode
maplejuris
I want to hear more from David about Notting Hill being demographically inaccurate lol
John Dog
I voted for Colours, but Curtis would almost certainly be more fun.
justn
FIRST!
mattgeeee
You guys must be going rom coms because you’re strategizing about how Kieślowski needs to be on the main feed, right?
Lauren Thompson
Curtis needs to go all the way
Alex Firer
Will Three Colors beat the Muppets hmm...
JD
Maybe if they cover Curtis they could find someone who grew up in Britain to guest on the episodes
Spencer Alger
I want to watch more romcoms with these boys, especially David. Need to hear more about how much David loves kissing please
Keira Q
A vote for Curtis is a vote for more Brit Talk from David. Do the right thing!
heather
We need The Tall Guy for its Lynch crossover.
Ian Smart
Come one guys…let’s do Three colors! What a unique series that’d be. They’ll do Richard Curtis on main feed eventually!
Andrew Jansson
I want to hear them dissect Love, Actually, actually.
Manton
I LOVE Kieslowski. I ADORE those three movies. Absolutely not, no thank you
Michael Curley
Love About Time. Four Weddings is great. And a commentary on the insanity of Love Actually would be an all-timer. Richard Curtis would be fantastic.
Matthew M
my rule for this march madness is to vote for any series where Julie Delpy will be discussed
The Wet Bandits Podcast
First vote! Feels good.
pantyscribblers
rom-commentaries please!
