It really seems like the Mikey bump post Oscars. I'm curious if there is a mini-age divide on this films coming down to weather your first horror movies were from the 80's or mid nineties and after. Personally love both series and I think that the 3rd in each series in an under rated gem.

Yes! Just from the perspective of the kills, Scream is 95% stabbings. Lame. On Elm Street? you don't know how you're gonna go, but it won't be pretty and it will be legendary.

I mean, Last House was a blank check movie for Wes. So was NOES. So was Scream. It was kind of his thing. I love NOES and I love the series. I just think there is something to be said for going through the four Screams as Wes shepherded them over the two really good but disparate NOES movies he did and I think it would be interesting to talk about where the Radio Silence guys took them. But I wouldn't balk at a NOES series either. Lots to talk about there.

Every Scream movie is at least interesting if not good (I think they're all good) and Elm Street has some real bangers (2 and New Nightmare would be very fun episodes). I think it's Scream for me because they don't fall toouch into formula and have the 'whodunnit' element that will make for a fun first watch for Griffin.

I know the Scream movies are definitely more popular and are probably BETTER by and large, but just think about the moments that the #twofriends would get to react to in the Nightmare franchise. Freddy skateboarding! Putting a boys soul in an NES! Eating a Pizza pie with people as the toppings! The Wizard of Oz homage in Freddy’s Dead is worth a vote alone lol.
